Clarkson’s had an early shandy over there today I see. Let’s see how that joint statement holds and whether that remains.

Correct me if I'm wrong, as obviously I've not been posting on this yur forum before very recently, but it seems from the outside that people on that site spend their time slagging off all and sundry, including people on here, but cry foul when that is reciprocated, even if done in a far milder manner? Despite some very public statements talking about agreements how everyone needs to play nice.

Obviously, I'm completely out of the loop on such things, so I might have read the situation completely incorrectly.

You are 100% correct.

Yes but some people are hypocrites.

I appreciate that and I can't claim to have followed the Trust and all the legal action in any depth ( you may have guessed that ) but although I haven't met ECB and Lisa ( and have only met Phil and Stuart on a few occasions), these guys seem to have the club at heart and don't deserve to be slated the way they have by some.

Absolutely correct G and I can assure you it would not have ended like this under the watch of the above.
Mind you people must be pissing themselves when they read someone saying they know Dave Dalton personally and this is not his fault.
He’s the f*cking Trust chairman.

There’s a lot of arguing, anger, mud throwing, etc on here but unfortunately this is a cautionary tale of greed, apathy and distrust.

When the previous regime and the trust were working together in sync there was a harmony derived from years of fighting on the same front, firstly to save the football club and then watch it grow beyond their wildest dreams. These were local people, supporters and had the clubs best interests at heart. Of course the trust would have enjoyed the comforts of their 21%, prawn sandwiches, perks and feeling of importance they were the envy of supporters clubs up and down the country.

When the previous owners decided the Premier League was the right moment to cash in and sell the club this was always going to be the beginning of the end for the trust as we knew it. The Americans had no interest in dealing with a supporter trust and were dismissive of it hence why they probably weren’t involved in the sale of the club. The trust was something they thought they could just swat away.

The fact this has been going on all the time has probably made the Americans resent the club as much as we do them. There is little to be gained in them owning the football club as the Premier League is a distant thought it’s just a case of when they decide enough is enough. That can’t come quick enough.

As for the trust it hasn’t been fit for purpose for a number of years and theres irony in the sense the betrayal of its members the very thing they were challenging will sound the death knell of what was once a brilliant organisation. The trust is a victim of corporate greed.

All we can do is get behind Russell and the team and treat the ownership and trust with the same disdain they have treated the fans.

I think, bar one or two, who take it to extremes then that causes a genuine disagreement, most on here are big enough to see the bigger picture and not confuse heated opinions ( which sometimes get personal) with a falling out.
At the end of the day it is just a forum full of opinions and there is a big ugly world out there with far more important things going on. Some people need perspective
Covid and the current Russian situation to name just two

You are absolutely correct mate, you even mention another site and all sorts of toys come flying out of the pram, it's all a bit daft really. But it's fair game the other way around, I've even been accused of taking drugs by a certain precious individual over there, but luckily for said person I've got a bigger pair of bolloxs

Perhaps he's a Dr though ? :D

As someone who spent a very short time on the Trust Board, the thought of taking this sort of decision without any member consultation is frankly unbelievable.

I remember well the pelters that I and others took when we recommended a previous deal (which the Yanks eventually pulled out of) but 100% better that than what's happened this week, particularly as the current deal is barely a shadow of the previous one.

Absolutely spot on.

This isn't a dig at ex members but I do find it baffling that apon resignation you guys didn't shout out from the roof tops what was going down in the trust so that maybe something, if anything could have been done to stop them making this decision. You guys obviously knew how this was going to go down. Anyway no use crying over spilt milk it's done now. I know from day one that the trust would never go to court which is why after the first vote I stopped my membership. Ironic really that the organisation is called trust. End of an era for this club and the final nail in the coffin.
