Whittaker recalled

I don’t understand why Martin had to publicly hinted at not wanting him back either.
He could just have said some bs like he’s done other times.

I agree.
As if Martin is making it clear that if he has an offer to go elsewhere he is better off taking it ?
He would not do that- surely ?

Well that’s what it appears to be.

Yeah I agree with this, it's not a good look at all, don't blame Whittaker making public he doesn't want to come back.

When I saw the interview I thought he was making his views, that differed with those of the owners/Winter etc

Getting excuses ready, if he doesn't get the backing he's looking for?

Russell couldn’t have given a more demotivating quote:
"He's our asset and there's a bigger picture in terms of what Josh [Marsh, Swansea's head of football operations] and Julian [Winter, Swansea's chief executive] see in terms of his value and what he might be able to add here. I'm quite relaxed about it either way."

Referring to Whitaker as an “asset” is dehumanising and shows Russ in his true colours.

Russ is just parroting the owners' view of players as saleable assets.

Whitts is such the gentle giant. Polite, humble, quiet, unassuming..... The young lad doesn't want to be here if Martin is here.

Whitts struggled under Martin's poor, conflicting messages. He has all the traits which Martin seized upon to humiliate and ostracise. With minimal backlash.

We need a new manager, 'prompto' (as Daps would say).

I agree with you Jak365, Morgan is a very polite young man and deserves better than being ostracised by Martin.

I’ve never seen this much drama over a fringe player before, somehow everyone thinks he can step up and jump straight into the first team, Cooper didn’t give him game time, did he hate Cooper as well? Rooney got rid of him the first offer they had did he hate Rooney? There was nothing wrong sending him out on loan to Plymouth the start of the season, he didn’t have a world beating loan spell with Lincoln last season so there was no way he was coming back into the squad when he returned from pre season, don’t get me wrong I’d like to see him at least have a chance from the bench as the loan would have done him wonders like it did with Cooper, but if selling him means it funds our business then so be it just hope we’ll have a decent sell on clause attached.

Actually, I think most are saying his loan was going well and he should have been allowed to see the season out with Plymouth, in fact, even Russell Martin...

Yeah more good business like darling and fisher and sorrynola right.

It makes sense if he’s been recalled to be sold or to be played. Otherwise it’s just nuts.

Indeed it is. Clearly the manager hasn't instigated the recall so the owners through Winter have done so.
This suggests that he's been recalled to be sold unless Winter has decided to pick the team from now on.
It's a mess and Whittaker is the innocent victim of it all.

Schumacher said: "We tried to sign Morgan in the summer. When I spoke to Russell Martin about him he told me he wasn't part of his plans and I suggested 'Can we buy him?' and he was open to that.

"When we spoke to their guys in charge - they came down here as we played Swansea (in pre-season) - they told me they weren't keen to sell him. They see Morgan playing for them in the Championship in the future so that was off the table.

This whole thing is a shambles isn't it.

He's cup tied for Sunday but if he's still here but not included in the squad by our next league game, we're going to look even more ridiculous.
