Always good to beat your rivalsNearly as good as Cardiff home

Let’s remember again that Blackburn have won every home game and we gave them the toughest test at home all season.
Were the only team not to concede more than 1 goal this season too - so the defensive situation is improving - albeit sometimes due to the quality of Vigs.
Getting things right in the final 3rd is the last piece of the jigsaw - probably the hardest thing to crack tho.
I wonder if we bring in the Swedish lad in January - we should have gone all out for him in the summer if you ask me. Not sure why we went for bianchini over him!?
Fair post that. Our defence has only improved because nearly all the team play in our half of the field.. add to that the speed we try and break out is walking pace and also add there is really little options and movement in the middle... hence we create little and score even less if at all. LW needs to gamble and play more on the front foot with tempo but he knows we would concede a shed load if we did that.
It's easy to say "one or two decent signings" but the recent history doesn't exactly suggest the recruitment department are capable of doing that.Fair post that.
Clearly we have wasteful forwards especially out wide and creativity wise so if we are to struggle up top then we need to be tougher at the back.......which we seem to be.
One or 2 decent signings in the final 3rd and we become a different animal.
We are closer to something than we have with the previous 2 managers and that's not me having a go at them just being honest.
It's not a coincidence that none of our forward players have been able to find their arse using their own hands on a regular basis. It's easy to say "one or two decent signings" but the recent history doesn't exactly suggest the recruitment department are capable of doing that.
Since the start of last season, the final third players we've signed are Bolasie, Sagoe Jr, Lowe, Ginnelly, Placheta, Ronald, Kukharevych, Yates, Eom, Bianchini, Peart-Harris and Vipotnik.
The hit rate of those is dreadful, Lowe probably the only one who produced anything that could be described as decent. I'm sure some will make a case for Eom but his end product is very poor from what we've seen so far.
Couple that with the fact we're scraping the barrel for free transfers or the January market, if any attacking players are semi decent then their parent clubs aren't likely to be offloading them during the season.
Is it really the case that all the attacking players we've signed look rubbish? Is it a failure of the manager/coaching staff to get them playing effectively together?
I just don't see the "we are closer to something" perspective, we play terrible football, we've barely got 11 players who are Championship standard, the stadium is half empty for all but one game, we haven't scored a goal for more than 7 hours, only 1 of the 72 EFL clubs have scored fewer goals than us this season and we're 4 points above the relegation zone. In my eyes, the only "something" we are getting closer to is League One
It's going to be 1-0 Millwall Jaxs isn't it? Can't see him trying to change the Backwards Waltz and the Hopeful Wang from the Wing 'attacking' strategy.Millwall on Saturday is a huge game for Williams. Put simply, it's a must-win game. Failure to win will likely cause this thread to become very active.

I'm not too optimistic to be honest Monny, but there comes a time when a game becomes "must win", and Saturday, for Williams, is in my opinion a must win...It's going to be 1-0 Millwall Jaxs isn't it? Maybe 1-1 if we get a lucky bounce.
Franco, Cullen and Cooper must come in, personally I'd start with Allen ( we might squeeze 60 minutes outa him) Key back also. What's going to change between now and Saturday?
Not a lot is my guess.
That depends how popular the manager is. We did go on a run of 3 wins in 23 games under Martin and there were still plenty of people who didn't think it was an issueI'm not too optimistic to be honest Monny, but there comes a time when a game becomes "must win", and Saturday, for Williams, is in my opinion a must win...
Hopefully it pours down on Saturday and I can get soaked to the bone after being bored to death for ninety minutesFranco, Cullen and Cooper must come in, personally I'd start with Allen ( we might squeeze 60 minutes outa him) Key back also.
But even with those changes i can't see anything to get particularly excited about Smurph...
I can't see where any sort of attacking threat is going to materialise, never mind picking up 3pts anytime soon, there comes a time when even the most optimistic amongst us has to hold Williams to account...That depends how popular the manager is.
