Williams out

You're missing the point.

We sit here, today, without a striker fit for this level.

That isn't Russell Martin's fault for letting those players go 2 years ago (although that didn't help). It's on the clowns who have made an absolute mess of the last three transfer windows.
But have they made an absolute mess of the last three windows? If you were a striker trying to further your career, would you go to a club where you will be lucky to get double figures touches of the ball in a game, any game? Frankly, if anyone else was interested, you'd go there.

Not much the the transfer guys can do about that. You can't dismiss the importance of player preference.

Look at our strikers

Cullen 110 appearances in Championship under 4 different managers has scored a whopping total of 19 goals....

Viptonik has a career 61 goals in 148 games

Neither have a prolific goal scoring history....
we need a goal scorer not a coach

19 chances created yesterday not one converted
Vipotnik has near triple the strike rate of Cullen but isn't prolific?

That's the thing. If this was Duff we'd hear 'Cullen's good for 10, Vip has near 40 goals in last two seasons, Bianchini was raved about in France"

But as it's lovely Luke they're a pile of wank that are fit for the scrap heap.

A balance has to be found.

Bony, Piroe and Scotland wouldn't get double figures in this team.

And then they'd be deemed terrible.

They would, because they're of vastly superior quality. Piroe literally scored loads of goals for us in a very average side that was almost as slow and as ponderous as this one.

I'm all for playing devil's advocate but that's just silly.

It's possible that might have put some strikers off, sure.

But far more likely the reason most decent strikers don't come here is we're a bit of an outpost geographically, and we don't do anything as a club to mitigate that ie offer higher wages.

So what you do then is you scout cleverly and look for lower cost gems. But we don't do that either.

All comes back to the clowns at the top - like most things wrong with the club.

To be fair, 61 goals in 148 games is almost a goal every 2 games.

That used to be the marker for a "world class" goalscorer, until Messi, Ronaldo and now Haaland made it look easy.

If we could create 3 chances a game for Vipotnik, I reckon he'd take at least one of them because his strike rate proves he can score goals. What he doesn't seem able to do is create chances for himself.

Unfortunately we don't have the players and/or the tactics to create those chances for him so he's going to struggle, just as any goalscorer would playing in this team/system

We are writing a striker off because they aren't running with the ball from the halfway line and setting up a chance for himself.

We all slated Cooper but we created many more chances under him. Remember Lowe missed a number before his first goal for us? What has Vipotnik missed? Naff all really.

An absolutely mental thread to start.

Coleman and Watson have given him absolutely nothing to work with in attacking areas. Vipotnik makes Jerry Yates look like Bergkamp, Cullen would barely cut it in League One, Ronald, Eom, Abdullai and Bianchini are woefully sub-standard wingers, the pool of attackers is absolute shite. One of the worst in the league.

We're 13th and overachieving.

Grow up FFS.
Correct.

As ever many reaching for predictable knee-jerk responses.

Given time and backing I think we’ll be okay.

Blaming the Managers masks wider issues.

We were so disjointed under him and there was no clear game plan with Duffs time here.
Not scoring goals is the main issue here and it's not been helped by a disastrous summer window with attacking players.

The football is not awful, we seem to have a decent shape on us until we hit the creative third.

We are desperately missing some pace out wide, a creative 10 who can chip in with goals and a striker. We knew we needed 2 weeks before the window closed.

The ones who are targeting the manager are taking the eyes away to where they should be firmly fixed.....on our inept owners who really now need to just F off.

This… the Director of our game from Sunday who’s a big Plymouth fan was saying what we can all see… we actually look like a half decent team until we get the the final 3rd.

Defensively solid… control the game well and work the ball well into the final 3rd but then just look lost.

I don’t actually think we’re far off being a decent team. Probably 2 or 3 more players.

I’d love to see the Swedish No.10 we were looking at come in January - not sure why we didn’t get him in the Summer over Bianchini (who cost more)

I think if we kept Placheta and got that Swedish lad then we would be in a far better position and would even suggest in and around the play offs. Even throwing in a token experienced front man like Andre Gray or Kemar Roofe would have made a massive difference.

Placheta isn't great but he turned full backs with his pace and we are desperately missing this type of player and Milleskog seems to be a graceful player who can assist and score goals.

Watson has wasted so much on the loans from last season and signings like Mykolo, Yates and Bianchini. It can also be argued that the wages we have wasted on players is criminal with Pederson being the most bizarre signing given we also signed Tymon and Tjoe a On in the same window and now we find him 4th choice centre half!

Wouldn’t mind us getting Sigurdsson on the phone for one more time.

Has Placheta had much game time with Oxford anyway?

Looks like he's been injured most of the season and played one hundred and fifty odd minutes.

Dodge a bullet on another sick note by the looks of it.

Unfortunately Placheta is out injured and will be missing in Saturday for our game also. Placheta does have a poor record with injuries but they pushed in with this Ott guy in Portugal who was a similar type of player but then the huge clusterfook cropped up after agreeing terms with both club and player......he was never going to get a WP! The much highly regarded sporting director Paul Watson hadn't even realised this and cost us a few grand in the process.

Bare in mind, this Ott deal was all done and fallen through by the start of July........meaning we had another 8vweeks for a speedy left winger that was one of the main priorities once the previous season ended, we didn't get one over the line.

We wanted a new strike force, Lowe went back to Sheff Wed and Mykolo and Yates loaned out before we got in Vipotnik who was brought in a couple of weeks before the start of the season with no other striker brought in before the window closed.

Went into the start of the season thinking Ginnelly would be involved but then got injured before the window closed.......no one brought in.
Forced to play Eom on wing when he was brought to play the no 10 tole but he then got injured and out until possibly the start of December.

People complaining we are playing Abdullai out of position and then even read that Key should be tried at RW by one or 2 who have complained Williams should play players in their natural position! We are thin on the ground with little to no attacking options on the bench.

Letting Williams go us not going to help or change the situation that has been created, as I say......CREATED.

Everybody was saying how good the signings were at the start of the season.. now it's the signings will be superb.. you're all making it up as you go along, like a sheep in a field being led by a sheep dog, and you don't realise you're talking sh*t
