Sheehan Out? Calm Down!

Not sure about absolute sense if I’m honest, Boro were average at best yesterday and personally I expected more, carbon copy of last seasons game, same problems as last year and we should have addressed our glaring deficiency’s up front before yesterday, got a strange feeling we’ll be having the same conversations throughout the season.
Apparently we offered McBurnie more money than Hull, so perhaps the funds are in place for a new striker. Anyway, I'm glad the hun bastard is as far away from Swansea as possible. We can get better.

Fair, but appointing him made absolute sense, if Cameron Burgess hadn't had a lapse of concentration yesterday we'd all have been trumpeting a hard earned point on the road. Thought Bango and Burgess were fantastic yesterday by the way.
Any news on Cabango? Did we bring him back too soon? I'd be gutted if he misses the next few games.

That’s because so many of them were full of hashtag piss the league when we signed a midfielder from Leyton Orient.

Ludicrous overreaction then and ludicrous overreaction now.

It’s not Sheehan’s fault that we haven’t yet brought the players we most needed.

One thing I would say though, is all the talk of ‘we have so many new players they’ll need time to settle’ is a bit odd given we started yesterday with 9 of the 11 being last season’s players. And Burgess for Darling is a pretty straight swap.

The difference is Galbraith instead of O’Brien.

Let’s hope that’s rectified this week with the player from Brighton or similar.

I’m hoping that the new players not breaking in to the team is temporary. Otherwise that’s a worry.
This is why I have concerns despite the fact we started with 9 of the players Sheehan employed during that run which git him the job we looked clueless yesterday. As you say Burgess is a like for like for Darling...the difference is how wh have replaced O Brien but maybe Gilbrath needs some adjustment time.
As has been said by many on here and the Indy Cullen is not a lone striker so why does Sheehan persist with this?
Why not look at a 4-4-2 with Cullen behind a more forward player maybe try Wilson there .
Thia is why for me the preaeason was dissapointing and in those games like yesterday we didnt seem to have any plan...and what were thise balls into the channela about? We dont have the personnel to deal with that.

I do worry though should we sign a "better" striker to what we have will they succeed given our lack of creativity....would Kone have made a difference yesterday?

That run made things really awkward for the club, strange Martin had a similar run but fans reckoned it was against teams who had nothing to play Sheehan had a similar run and many were clamouring for him to be appointed…strange lot football fans.
Comparing apples to oranges there. Martin's great run of results came after that horrendous run of a couple of wins in 20+ games (I'm sure someone else remembers the exact stats). We had 2 seasons of mostly poor results, then he'd deviate from his 'process' and things would improve, only for him to return to form as soon as the heat was off.

Sheehan took over a side which had lost 7 of the last 9 games, then immediately won 2 and drew 1. After losing the next two, we went on a run of 5 wins out of 8, with only 1 defeat.

TLDR, nothing like Martin's run of wins.

In fairness Harry Kane probably wouldn't have made a difference yesterday. Early days though.

O’Brien made the difference in the second half of last season. Without a box to box or creative midfielder we resort to punting it up aimlessly up the middle or playing it out wide in the hope that our wingers can beat their man and put in a cross for someone to get on the end of. When was the last time there was a ball played through the middle for a striker to get on to?

Vipotnik at Leeds? When he proved he could finish.

No I’m not, it’s just the slant you’ve decided to put on it, ten games is ten games I could just as easily put my own slant on it as well but there’s no need.

The source for that ‘McBurnie turned down a bigger offer from Swansea’ story is the same Alan Nixon who reported that we were front runners to sign him. Keith is reporting that we did not make an inquiry about him, let alone an offer, and that certainly fits the known facts better than Nixon’s stories.

See, these "fans" calling for Sheehan's head after one game don't understand football even in the slightest. Personally I think they should be banned from all forms of social media for the sake of their own sanity.
So you want anyone who dares to criticise a performance after paying good money to watch it, banned? You're in the wrong country, there's a seat waiting for you in Donald Trump's government. 🙄

To be fair to those in charge, there was always far too much work to do in a single window. We definitely weren’t going to have all players in before the first game.

I don’t think we can say what these are like yet until we’ve had multiple summer windows under their control.
We have to wait "multiple Summer windows"??
So how long, exactly, is this hiatus? 3 years? 4? Maybe 5? We'll be bankrupt by then. Time, and football, waits for no man.
