I wonder if it's linked or got anything to do with that podcast with Luke Williams that has come out over the last few days!?
"The Swans said when Montague was appointed that he would "spearhead the club's recruitment strategy".
"However, Sheehan has regularly praised Adam Worth ( Dimi), who was promoted to global head of analytics and recruitment at Swansea in April, for his contribution when discussing the club's transfer work with the media this summer."
Negotiating deals + overseeing the recruitment department
Reading between the lines there (and no doubt coming out with 5 from 2+2), it may be that Monty wasn't pulling his weight as much as the owners would want?
That wasn't his role, it was the role of Gorringe to negotiate and get the deals done. Gorringe himself confirmed thisI think so.
He was the man who got the deals done. Ok, he wasn't the man who found the players but he was the one who got the deals done and that's the hardest part in the conveyer belt imo.
It doesn't seem to be anyone coming into the role externally so it's either someone within the club that believes or someone else believes can do the job OR they are going to run with no replacement.
Used to post on here, massively critical about a lot of things. Ruffled a few feathers, but ultimately he’s proven he knows his stuffwho is Dimi?
Is going to be intersting to see what happens over the next few months. Then we will know if he knows his stuff.Used to post on here, massively critical about a lot of things. Ruffled a few feathers, but ultimately he’s proven he knows his stuff
I did a follow on post after this initial post you have replied too which suggests as you sayThat wasn't his role, it was the role of Gorringe to negotiate and get the deals done. Gorringe himself confirmed this
I think we must put our trust in whatever decisions the hierarchy make. I’m sure they will replace Montague with a more than capable replacement- that’s IF he is actually leaving. Is going to be intersting to see what happens over the next few months. Then we will know if he knows his stuff.
There seems to be some cohesive structure behind the scenes now, so fingers crossed they make a progressive appointment.I think we must put our trust in whatever decisions the hierarchy make. I’m sure they will replace Montague with a more than capable replacement- that’s IF he is actually leaving.
Hi DimiUsed to post on here, massively critical about a lot of things. Ruffled a few feathers, but ultimately he’s proven he knows his stuff
In fairness he got Martin's number pretty quickly. Had many clashes with him over politics etc. but often agreed with his assessment of sport. Is going to be intersting to see what happens over the next few months. Then we will know if he knows his stuff.
