Sweet. Just found out the game is on Paramount+ plus over here.

I get an annual subscription free with my Walmart+ subscription, 98 bucks a year total for both.

They have the Championship too so I get to watch 30 Swans games per season with that.

They show 8 out of the 12 championship games each game week
That's quite good for you, enjoy!

I think they thought PL team at home, there'll be massive demand. They neglected to consider kids being back in school combined with a late kick off, it's on TV, Forest are a PL team but not a big draw, they won't be playing their first choice players, still the early rounds of the competition, etc.

Hopefully they learn from this. I love the idea of including home cup games in season tickets, but can't see them going that far. Same prices as last two games should definitely be the plan next time.
I agree. I think that’s exactly what they thought.

A bit worrying though.

The reality is, in my opinion, people are absolutely saturated with PL football. It’s on tv almost constantly, everyone sees the premier league several times every week if they want to, and, to be frank, people are just apathetic about the premier league teams outside perhaps half a dozen of them.

I can’t be the only person who’s gone from regularly watching PL games to hardly ever watching PL games. I simply don’t care.

Not too long ago I wouldn’t have dreamed of missing a cup game against a team like Forest in the third round of the cup. I can honestly say it hasn’t even crossed my mind to travel 400 miles round trip tomorrow evening. I will, of course, watch it on Sky, but that’s half the problem. I know it will always be on TV.

I agree they probably won’t bring in free games as part of the season ticket again. But even if they did get a free ticket for season tickets holders if they bring one non season ticket holder with them (so half price effectively on whatever the ticket price is. And it shouldn’t be £20).

Combo of the weather and ticket sales is going to make this an absolute slog. Fair play anyone going (I would, but not for £20)

They shouldn’t have doubled the price from the last round.

Years ago, cup games were included in the season ticket. Surely a full (ish) ground with people paying for drinks / merchandise etc would be better in the long run than selling very few tickets at £20?

They should have done it for nothing for season ticket holders (or a quid admin fee or something) and £5 for everyone else. Get some new people interested in attending live games.
I made this exact point on social media & I was called everything from fickle to entitled. Some people are just blind to what's in front of them. The club still have a lot of hard work to do to convince fans to come to games. One successful transfer window isn't going rebuild that relationship.

Half the people calling you names on social media have probably never set foot in the stadium, while the other half thrive on trolling.

I appreciate forums like this are mostly populated by older fans (I'm 45 and I think I'm one of the younger ones here!), but I'm thankful for a place we can discuss the Swans relatively sensibly. Yes, we'll disagree and argue, but it rarely crosses the line. It's very different the odd times I venture on to Twitter or the like.

Absolutely agree with your post. Only time i miss a league match is through illness, but wouldn't go tonight even if i had a free ticket. Lost interest in cup competitions years ago when managers started putting out second and third string teams, add in the factors of it's on tv and the weather and it's definitely a no go. Apathy is a good point though, remember people around me in the stadium in the Premier league years being disappointed that teams like Stoke were our next home game and on occasions not bothering to turn up for them.

Not sure if you are right regarding cup games being included in the season ticket. I can't remember any season when it happened, and what about the percentage a visiting team takes from the official attendance.

FA Cup ties see both teams taking 40/45% each with the remainder going to the FA, and roughly the same applies to games in the League Cup.
Also, havn't the visiting team to be given their permission to lower prices - kids for a quid etc.

I can't remember cup games being included in season tickets either. They used to get first dibs when cup tickets when on sale.

Oh so true, I don't give the PL a thought. Obviously I want the Swans to be playing against the best, but the PL has turned into a business where football is a distant second.

I'm fairly certain that I remember vouchers at the back of my season ticket book (it was probably 30 odd years ago mind) which could be used to allow access to some cup matches as directed by the Club at the time. They may have been used for Welsh Cup Games though? my memory fails me!!

There were definitely vouchers A, B, C etc in the season ticket book behind vouchers 1-23. Can't remember for certain whether they gave you free entry or you just had to exchange them in the the club shop for 'first refusal' on cup tickets.
