• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Bolloxs, this goes back to when we signed Adam Idah, some "outlets" itk types were saying it was an O'Dea signing, the very same that were saying the players hated training because of O'Dea's relentless flogging of players program based on his Gaelic football upbringing. Utter, Utter bolloxs.

Logically I agree it makes no sense.

Liverpool had the luxury of being able to spend that sort of money backing a successful manager. A struggling championship club shouldn't be doing similar with an assistant manager who's soon be sacked.

As I say, a time and a place, under the correct circumstances.

We have the luxury of spending what we are able to also. It’s all relative. It’s not going to change even if you don’t agree.

Shall we put this to bed!?

And TJ, if you are who its being suggested you are.......take a step back and I mean that sincerely 👍

I would be careful about repeating these assertions. As @Smurph can also attest to, it can lead to the staff being proactive with their powers.

Amazing how many cages get rattled by being supportive of the club. It does lay it bare just how many people we have that are desperate to cause unrest, some for quite different reasons than others..

All a distraction from what had previously been quite a reasonable discussion.

A lot of Jonny come lately types, can you imagine if there was Internet chat back in 1991, Swansea City 1 Southend 2 in front of 3,200. BOOOM ⚡

Again, this isnt a black or white thing. We shouldn't be allowing an assistant manager to sign our most expensive signing in years under the circumstances we did. I e assistant with no real record of success for a club struggling in the championship. Free transfer or loan, then yes, different story.

You've criticised the Benson signing. By your logic youre criticising the club. Are you desperate the cause unrest?

You have no idea how much he cost. If you want to write to the club and tell them that they should stop management teams from signing players they know then go for it, but I doubt you will get much joy. It’s always happened and will always happen.

I didn’t criticise it, I said it didn’t work. I see the logic in the signing and appeared to be a reasonable punt.

A signing not working is par for the course in every club, it’s the nature of football transfers. He got sent back and shipped out to Israel.

Again, I'm not criticising the practice per say. Its the application of it thats what needs monitoring. The club already have people paid well to make decisions such as this. They shouldn't require mail from fans for this.

But the club clearly don’t agree with you, so may benefit from your mail if you are certain you are right and know best.

And that signing was far less of a risk than Idahs. So I agree with you, it was worth the punt, I see why they did it, but you live and die by your decisions and have to take responsibility for them.

But ultimately you're pointing out that the signing didn't work out. How dare you publicise that and cause embarrassment for the club.
