• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Yep, he didn't last long after that.

There have been many accounts on twitter and a couple on here this season. It's an open secret internally at the club, especially when the posts are near verbatim recreations of internal messages, in the same tone and shall we say, persistence. If the arguments were made in person, maybe it would not be so obvious.

Distancing himself from the Idah deal is a nice vote of confidence.

C'est la vie. Works for the owners and unlikely to change anytime soon.

I can’t answer that, but what I will say is managers will sign players that they have coached and trust + this will always be the case whether you agree with it or not. Matos will get some Liverpool/Salzburg players that he’s worked with too I would guess at some point.

Hopefully we'll have learnt and wont give an assistant manager who'd soon be sacked the power to make expensive signings.

I don’t think there is anything to learn, managers will ultimately have the power to sign a player they know. This will always be the case, including this summer I’m sure. I personally don’t like it either, but that’s football.

That's not good and not professional at all.
You are in trouble if you are trying to control something and/or trying to defend something to such levels.

If what you suggest is true that is!
Makes things stranger given I don't think they are at the level to do it either.....things are far from that bad to do such things.

Oh my Lord 😂

So. you know, for a fact that O'Dea was behind the signing of Adam Idah do you? And your not just putting 2 and 2 together? You should stop believing amateur journalism claptrap as gospel kid.

Its the degree of that power thats the problem.

Read up, its not me saying O Dea was solely responsible for signing him. Im saying its mad if he was.

Fook me!
This could be special in so many ways.

It's unfolding quite badly.

Thats a football problem then. Just the way it is. I think we would have issues attracting managers if we were the club to buck that trend and not allow

Im actually a supporter of it. Rodgers and Laudrup had great success signing players they knew. But they weren't assistant managers and the signings not as expensive as Idah! Which is mad really.
