Should we be concerned?

Two defeats against lower league opposition. I know there was a mix of first team and fringe players starting but today’s lineup was pretty strong.
What are we lacking?

Not too worried in terms of results, but the lack of goals is worth thinking about. Vipotnik has to start ahead of Cullen - he might not be as mobile, but he's our best finisher and much more of a rough diamond.

Hard to gauge the the qualities of our lineups too. No Eom or Cabango at all, Key, Inoussa, and Santos all missing games, we haven't had our 'full strength' side play together.

I await and see what happens with incomings in the next few weeks.

It's good that we are seeing what injuries and lack of numbers can bring to the squad in pre season. The issues are easy to see and I would like to think the ones in charge of things are aware also.

We should not be panicking. And should not care about pre season results. But that line up and bench today will not be good enough for the championship. It’s alarming when we are already so short at the back to hear Santos is out for a while.

It's funding the common ground here.
It's not the finished article, some seem to be concerned and some seem to be passing it off.....I think it's clear the issues we have in the squad but there is time to solve it so the concern is only slight but not enough to get carried away with it.

Glad I'm not in the "let's make a joke of it" phase as that is a clear sign to myself that there is something to be concerned about.

Well I’d like to think that as well.

But this was, after all, the summer where our spangly recruitment set up was going to get us sorted in time for players to bed in properly. And the key positions are missing. Right up the spine of the team. It’s not great is it.

I’m not sure why people are getting so irritated with it being pointed out?

It always irritates me that the beginning of the season is treated in such a blasé way. The three points in the opening game mean as much as the three points in the closing game. And yet the period until the window closes is always treated as a sort of warm up for the real thing. The sooner they close the window at the start of the season the better.
