"Decent" is about as high a praise you can get out of deadpan SheehanSheehan pretty much ruling out Kone in his presser.
Unless its a double bluff.
Said he's "aware" of the lad over in Sweden and rates him as "decent".

I'd certainly prefer the Sweden lad to Kone who doesn't fill me with confidence at all"Decent" is about as high a praise you can get out of deadpan Sheehan![]()

Although I agree with him being a gamble and as I said a few days ago, if we can’t get him for our valuation walk away, more than you suggest will have seen him in the flesh given he scored the goal that knocked us out of the League Cup last season in Swansea. It is quite amusing how many people are experts on Kone despite most of them never having heard of him a year ago and hardly any would have seen play in the flesh.
He could turn out to be as good as people think and not just a six month wonder. He might turn out to be another Watters or Langstaff and look completely out of his depth at a higher level. Frankly I'd rather not gamble millions finding out.
if we’re going to be successful we’re gonna need more than just the starting 11. We really lack any depth… so need as strong a squad as possible to rotate.
I don’t understand people who ask where players will fit in the side… what happens after 60 mins when one of Franco, Galbraith, Widell need subbing?
Good we want them battling for and fighting to keep their place in the team.Just a question. I can't see any of the four being happy on the bench
We seem to be loading up on midfielders and wingers, which might indicate the type of football we're aiming to play. High press, high energy. The kind of style that requires fresh legs to be able to rotate the side regularly.
They'll all get plenty of games IMO.
I'd like a new striker as much as anyone, but we scored plenty of goals under Sheehan at the end of last season. Replacing Darling's goals will be needed, but if we play the kind of high press, high energy game we're talking about, we may actually provide our existing strikers with decent service and see if they're actually good enough at this level.View attachment 6123
Where we’re going Marty, we won’t need strikers
So we need a striker that can score say 3 more than Vipotnik managed last year which was 4...shouldn't be hard.I'd like a new striker as much as anyone, but we scored plenty of goals under Sheehan at the end of last season. 6 is just a number these days.I thought he'd be coming in to play at 6. If not, who plays there
FFS, leave out Fulton will you! It's like a bluddy obsession with you.More likely that we would see the new kid and Galbraith competing for the CDM position
Franco Widell and Fulton for CM
Widell and Eom for CAM
I can only assume this is tongue in cheek since I want Fulton gone as much as anybody at the clubFFS, leave out Fulton will you! It's like a bluddy obsession with you.
