I'd certainly prefer the Sweden lad to Kone who doesn't fill me with confidence at all

It is quite amusing how many people are experts on Kone despite most of them never having heard of him a year ago and hardly any would have seen play in the flesh.

He could turn out to be as good as people think and not just a six month wonder. He might turn out to be another Watters or Langstaff and look completely out of his depth at a higher level. Frankly I'd rather not gamble millions finding out.

Although I agree with him being a gamble and as I said a few days ago, if we can’t get him for our valuation walk away, more than you suggest will have seen him in the flesh given he scored the goal that knocked us out of the League Cup last season in Swansea.

if we’re going to be successful we’re gonna need more than just the starting 11. We really lack any depth… so need as strong a squad as possible to rotate.

I don’t understand people who ask where players will fit in the side… what happens after 60 mins when one of Franco, Galbraith, Widell need subbing?

Hopefully not Fulton!

We seem to be loading up on midfielders and wingers, which might indicate the type of football we're aiming to play. High press, high energy. The kind of style that requires fresh legs to be able to rotate the side regularly.

They'll all get plenty of games IMO.

I'd like a new striker as much as anyone, but we scored plenty of goals under Sheehan at the end of last season. Replacing Darling's goals will be needed, but if we play the kind of high press, high energy game we're talking about, we may actually provide our existing strikers with decent service and see if they're actually good enough at this level.

So we need a striker that can score say 3 more than Vipotnik managed last year which was 4...shouldn't be hard.

Did you mean 3 more than Darling (who actually scored 5), as Vipotnik scored 7?

It seems ridiculous to say we need to replace the goal scoring of a defender who scored 5 goals, but that made Darling our third top scorer...
