Not one to get carried away but I really like the look of piroe. Looks a really good player to me and he seems like he’s driven to make an impact at our club. I’m quite excited by him. What you reckon?

I agree. He certainly knows where the goal is and at this rate I’d be surprised if he’s still here after the Christmas transfer window.

Was at the game tonight and thought he was positive and had a bit of dog about him. The lad’s going to do well.

Why? When you're 1-0 up, especially away from home, you just keep the ball.

You can't be entirely passive. Once control of the game switches to the oppo it's very hard to get it back. Better to stay largely on the front foot.

Control of the ball always has to be allied to the will to do something with it otherwise you're just going to get bullied out of games, a lesson Cooper never learned.

Nonsense. What does keeping the ball have to do with being passive? Do you remember our goal at Craven Cottage all those years ago? Was it 30-odd passes in all? We kept the ball but I certainly wouldn't have called it passive. Keeping the ball doesn't have to be confined to passing it among the back 3 and the goalie.

From what I saw, Benda and Cooper changed the plan and decided to go long when it was needed. Some of the clearances were spot on. No need to tire yourself out and make more mistakes at the back.

Exactly the way it should be ,passing for no reason is pointless said it in another thread this week ,as professional players you should know when too play balls and when to go long regardless what the manager says

Isn´t possession football meant to be calming. I´m cacking it whenever we have the ball within 70 yards of our goal.

Yeah this is gonna be a rollercoaster. But it won’t be boring. Another Russell with a similarly tidy beard asks…
