Would it be fair to say Russ is on a hiding to nothing here already? Deep down we know we should be putting this lot away...they'll be around the bottom come season end.
I think we'll win, but seeing our defence adapt to a probable aerial bombardment be interesting.

In many ways our defenders now are better equipped to handle a physical aerial approach with Cabango, Woods and Darling all big tall central defenders. The way we were letting the ball bounce and subsequently creating a shit ton of trouble for ourselves in the preseason friendlies is of greater concern.

It will be a very interesting match to watch for sure, and yes I agree that RM is kind of on a hiding to nothing for the exact reasons you said.

Rotherham will probably be at the arse end come next May, so we have to aim to dismantle them, but they'll be on a high from promotion so would rather catch them later.

If we lose with a whimper there'll be trouble ahead, if we lose but put on a show like Oldham all those years ago, that would be disappointing but defendable. If we draw with a dog performace it'll be worrying but Ok, first game an all that. I expect us to dominate and win though...if not, then we've not come very far have we?

Good team talk, no pressure then 🙄

That would be my team talk though. I’d end it with “enjoy yourselves and relax” 🤣

They need pressure on them, so does Russ. He’s done all the talking, used all the excuses, it’s time to deliver the goods. Rotherham is a prime next day delivery destination.

Definitely monny, they definitely need to relax BUT not fuck about with it at the back though 🤣

We should have a 'spread ' for the word 'process' after every game it happens.

Going off at a tangent slightly for a mo, what do those in the know say about linkies for the upcoming season? Important for ex pat Jacks like me. Will there be more, less, the same, none?

Well no excuses this season Russko, had your pre season and built your own squad, now it's time to deliver.

Ok here we go. Let's hope we create more goalscoring opportunities this season. Last season we had the ball in most games but the opposition had more shots at goal and more chances in most games. I think today against an unfancied team will tell us a lot.

Swansea City: Andy Fisher; Nathan Wood, Kyle Naughton, Harry Darling; Joel Latibeaudiere, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain), Matty Sorinola; Joel Piroe, Jamie Paterson, Michael Obafemi.

Substitutes: Steven Benda, Ryan Manning, Ben Cabango, Ollie Cooper, Olivier Ntcham, Liam Cullen, Cameron Congreve.

Continue to be surprised to see Fulton in the lineup, but otherwise I think its the team most people were expecting to see.

That right side is going to be a real target for them to attack if they have watched any of our preseason games and seen Lati trying to play wingback.

Let's get off to a flyer! Russ you've had a full pre-season , no excuses, let's go for it!!!🤞⚽🦢
