Sone bands/artists are very much like marmite. Others are near universally liked. What about those you have seen live, and would be happy to again, but just don't listen to at home or in the car or whilst travelling?

Two quite different bands for me- Metallica and Run DMC. Own nothing by either, but would pay to see them again. Thoughts?

Slayer, Dave Mathews Band, Primal Scream, Gogol Bordello, Fat White Family, Blood Red Shoes, Showaddywaddy.

To name a few.

Lower Dens

Saw them supporting Belle and Sebastian at St David’s hall and I enjoyed them so I bought the LP which I didn’t think much of.

I can’t think of any others. Maybe the La’s and Garbage who were good live but wouldn’t buy / download / stream them.

Saw Mamma freedom live, loved their stuff, really good.
Never bothered getting anything thereafter, but now i've said that
think i may reaquaint myself with them.
See how nice threads go, look and learn, look and learn ;)

As this seems to be descending into cock-waiving of the "who's seen the most obscure band" type, here's another.

Just a bit of bants.

I'm more than often guilty of it myself.

Here's someone who will divide opinion. I think she's great.

A touch of Nick Drake with the fingerstyle guitar. That’s very good. Also reminds me of Fairport Convention too (but god knows why?)

Funny you should mention Nick Drake - that's a definite for me in the "Bands or artists you just don't get" category.

Here's another song of hers you make like.

Will have a listen later. Have a zoom meeting now. I can see that with Nick Drake. It gets very close to whiny posh boy at times.

Going back a few decades I always enjoyed a few beers before a Status Quo gig. Must have seen them eight or ten times and great fun live when tipsy but never bought a record. Just not the sort of thing I listened to at home and sober.

Going back a bit here.
Slade. Saw them supporting Mott The Hoople, and they were superb live. They played a lot of stuff very different from the usual Slade and I’ve never bought anything by them, but stunning live.
