Brewster

The one area we do agree is that a squad role at Liverpool would be more beneficial to his development than coming back here. If Darren's twitter link is right, looks like that's what happening and good for him.

One more debate on your final sentence. If Brewster's 11 goals in half a season proved he shouldn't be playing in the Championship, then surely Tammy's 23 goals for Bristol City would have been stronger evidence of the same? He still needed another season there for Villa before Chelsea deemed him ready for their first team.

Again you are comparing the players but not how far each player is/was away from a starting X1 with their respective clubs. Tammy is still effectively a fringe second/third choice forward at Chelsea after a few seasons in the Championship and couple of prem seasons. Brewster has had a lot less exposure on loan and now Klopp is including him in the Liverpool squad for 20/21. My point all along is Brewster is rated higher than the Championship by his club for now he will not be loaned out to us or anyone else in our league. As for Tammy, he will end up at Fulham or West Ham eventually as Chelsea strengthen to win the prem.

You may well be right about where Tammy ends up, but although Tammy is now certainly behind Timo Werner at Chelsea, he was their first choice striker for most of last season. He made 47 (33 starts) appearances and was their top scorer with 18 goals. They obviously don't think he was good enough for the long term, hence signing Werner, but they believed at the start of last season that he deserved a chance.

There's no doubt that Abraham was closer to being a starting 11 player last season than Brewster is now. If Brewster stays at Liverpool, there is zero chance he gets anything like 47 appearances. If Tammy stays at Chelsea as backup, I'd bet good money that he'll get way more minutes on the pitch than Brewster will.

At the end of the day, it looks like he is staying at Liverpool and so you were correct that he's not coming back here. Why you keep trying to argue that Tammy and Brewster aren't comparable I don't know.

Brewster is a far better striker than Tammy in my opinion.

Abraham has proven himself at Premier League level. Brewster hasn't yet.

That's basically all that can be said with certainty.

True - although Abraham is also 2 years/seasons more experienced & has had the chance to prove himself.

For me & using 45 years plus of watching football I’d say Brewster is the more natural finisher but to date Abraham offers more outside the box but if - clearly not going to happen obvs - we had the choice right now I’d be picking Brewster.

I can see Abraham getting increasingly less time in the Chelsea starting line-up, as Frank works out that he doesn't suit their style of play. He'll end up in a bottom half PL team. Brewster, on the other hand, if his improvement continues, could be a top player in the PL. That's what I reckon anyway.

Anyway we can stop beating this dead horse now and focus on who is here.

For some reason - that I suspect is nothing more than pure hope - I think Brewster will spend next season here on loan.

Rob Phillips, Nathan Blake and ? On Radio Wales today seemed to think that there was every chance he could come back to.us IF he goes on loan again as Klopp was pleased with how Cooper handled him.

Cooper was of course also in the academy at Liverpool.

He isn’t trusted by Klopp yet. He’ll be starting for us against Preston

Edit Just reading a few Journalists who reckon he’s signing for Sheff Utd on loan imminently though aswell

Brewster missed his penalty, Klopp gonna send him back to us now to rebuild his confidence 🤞😄
