Been on the red wine so bear with me. There’s a bit of a lottery towards the end of the season. Some relegation candidates playing teams with nothing to play for have an advantage over others that don’t. Then you get the borefest of a Man City who field their B team after securing title. How about changing the rules for the last 3 games of the season. 5 points for a win? 🍷

I've actually written about and proposed before that the season should run on a schedule that means the fixtures should be split into blocks between groups of teams, who should all play the same opponents in the same time period, for example the top 4 and bottom 4 (3 promoted and lowest finisher).

This equalises the effect of 'form' and balances the luck of the fixtures out, not to mention it means that it's more likely that seasons play out to the end if teams of perceived equal strength play one another in the last 4 games of the season.

I‘ll have to read that again in the morning 😉
