I was pleased they did not win. Getting out the country was the best thing to do, it reached a point where being elsewhere was essential. Didn't watch the game, the idea was to escape it and hope for an Italian victory. I was successful on both counts.
Wandered round the City last night around game time. Swansea has a number of bars and drinking places even away from the main town area but thing was saw one or two people walking brazenly about with England tops on. Maybe its just me but thought it a bit unsavory , guess they didn't have time to make it back across the Severn bridge before start of game.
Bought a newspaper today as a souvenir of them losing, lo and behold they get a number of pages devoted to them but guess its an English based publication. Looked at a few Welsh newspapers but they were a day or two out of date and no mention or feature of last night.
Had a good look round the City today while at it, Abertawe station and museum, Quayside and tall buildings down there, one great big feature that stands out above all others but can't remember the name of it. Only passed it a couple of hours ago.
Say again the City here is quite expansive, sort of sprawled out and plenty of walking to be done. Will try to get to the Mumbles in a day or so but think a bus is best to reach it. Can see it from where we are, accommodation, but goes round in a bend and always seems a long way off. Going to make the most of time here.
Best thing is, now England lost and the soccer is over you can enjoy things a lot more, time to savour and more enjoyment from a trip out.
