• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Thanked by mistake.

You have no idea saint, I suspect there will have been plenty of bobbies champing at the bit to get at the scumbags who caused all the damage, it's the people at the top you need to be venting your anger at, the ones who have cut police numbers and the ones who wouldn't commit officers

Speaking as someone who has the greatest respect for the job the police do, all of our emergency services for that matter, there can be no excuse for the police holding back last week, they take the job on knowing that at some point they will have to put thier necks on the line, for whatever reason, this didn't happen.
An inquiry needs to be held, and, if wrong decisions were made, heads must roll.

As I've said there weren't enough bobbies available to safely sort it out that's why little was done and and I've also said it's because of cuts to front line bobbies

She took two of them out (as in injured them), they clearly had trouble containing her.

Felt sorry for the 2 or 3 officers with the shields retreating up the street, they were in a terrible position. Completely out numbered and had one of them gone down on the deck every piece of scum there would have been looking to put the boot in and “get a bit of the action.” They were in an unenviable situation, I reckon their Adrenalin was going and they would have been afraid, I know I would be facing a mob of maybe 150.

I suspect the officers were doing what they were told. For something like this the, the senior officers on duty would have been involved. I’d have thought the local sergeant and Inspector would have been there and supervising/reporting back to further up the chain who would set out the police response. Going in and giving the weasels a good hiding would be most peoples desired outcome, but as has been said with phones recording everything unless the powers that be are prepared to provide some kind of” top level cover” for using reasonable force ( which is subjective) a penny to a pound the cops will all be under investigation and at risk of losing their jobs! In today’s climate, I can’t see any top official in government or anywhere else providing that support!

Lastly, I suspect the cops may not have had the numbers on duty to deal with that kind of disturbance. Be really interesting to know how many they would have had working.
