I thought I was dreaming the 20mph limit

Bryn what is the point of voting Plaid? Seriously?

They always end up joining forces with a
Labour just like last time and nothing ever changes. They never negotiate anything remotely interesting.

I go back to my original thoughts. There is an appetite for change but there isn’t a good option so we’re ‘stuck’ (cue cb to go on about tories)

There is clear evidence Wales is fed up look at the Brexit vote. I mean never has there been a more moronic self defeating vote than that but a lot of that stemmed from the fact people could actually change something. In hindsight I get it even if it’s the worst channeling of frustration you could ever see.

There is a dictatorial nature to this lot but that comes with never ending power.

Scotland has shown how you can be more pluralistic and what has happened? More concessions and media interest from London.

People look at Wales and scoff. Rugby supporting, choir singing, labour voting - ahhh bless. It’s awful but we all know it deep down.

this 20 mph thing is completely insignificant compared to the bullshit the Tory dicks in Westminster has put the UK and Wales through in the last 13 years.

Bingo. Yet the self hating Welsh people can’t help but defend them. Yeah but Drakeford etc. none of them admit to voting Tory of course. They hate all politicians equally. Lolz. Twats.

I liked the Plaid Cymru manifesto but I would love to know how the plans would have been funded. Some great ideas in there and at least they seem to have a grip on everything Wales as opposed to be Cardiff centric. They did, however suggest that they would introduce 20 mph as the default speed limit in all built up areas. What is a built up area FFS

So you said you responded to the consultation, might have been handy to read it first.

“The Welsh Government plans to introduce legislation in 2023 which will reduce the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on restricted roads across Wales.

Restricted roads are defined as roads on which are provided a system of street lighting furnished by means of lamps placed not more than 200 yards apart. They are typically located in residential and built-up areas of high pedestrian activity in Wales. The national default speed limit for such roads is currently 30mph, although local authorities can use traffic regulation orders to set another speed limit in appropriate cases.

At the same time, it is recognised that a speed limit of 20mph may not be appropriate for all restricted roads and an ‘exceptions process’ has therefore been developed.

The ‘exceptions process’ suggests when 20mph speed limits on restricted roads may not be suitable, based on criteria linked to the number of houses, schools, community centres and shops alongside the road. Local authorities can review the outcomes of the process and determine whether to retain the existing speed limit along some stretches of road.”

Christ in a bike - so you want to have a go at me

I just don’t understand how you can claim you didn’t know what the plan was after reading and responding to the consultation. Not having a go at anyone.

I didn't read the bit in the manifesto, guilty as charged - I missed that sentence. I responded to that consultation about two years ago. That clearly was laying out the plans and I responded appropriately. I know I responded and can guess what my feelings were at the time. I did not get what Labour planned in the manifesto. I disagree with the default 20. 20 is absolutely right in places. I pledge to be more vigilant when answering questions.
The speed limit is not 12 in Spain unless it is on a road that pedestrians share with traffic.

Christ. I actually experienced a slight buzz of euphoria driving from a 20 into a 30 this morning.

Jeepers, grown men still bed wetting at having to drive a little bit slower. And as a Brucie bonus, old Rockin pops in to tell us we don't know what we're talking about as well

Another pleasant day driving in and around Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot without any carnage. No angry tourists vowing never to return, and no emergency vehicles struggling to get to their calls.

Not very good tyrants are Welsh Labour are they?

Do I really need to tell you it’s a Sunday? Are you retired or unemployed? If you are either then I’m sorry you don’t have the foggiest

You’ll have to excuse ECB he’s extremely sanctimonious but when challenged he’ll suggest people like me are being condescending. When all I’m doing is asking questions which still haven’t been answered

 You are definitely in the minority if you think it's a good idea.

Talking of tourists, I'm reading reports of cancellations galore in North Wales.
