I thought I was dreaming the 20mph limit

On the air pollution front, I recall watching a documentary on the Neath Road traffic calming scheme (pre MDR). Whereby it was found that after installation of the traffic calming measures, the air quality plummeted, causing also sorts of respiratory problems for residents living there. It was found that slow moving traffic stopping and starting was affecting the air quality severely. The construction of the MDR and removal of traffic calming has improved things, I believe. Not sure if Neath Road is now 20mph,if so will it have an adverse effect on air quality.

I think Neath Road is now 20.

Edit: It's 20. if you are a drakeford loving drone, to intelligent people like myself, it's 30 :D

Did you miss my post up thread where I specifically said that opinion on this isn’t splitting on party affiliations? You never change. Tory to aT.

Why are you derailing my comments again then? I know it suits to take it down this road rather than answering the points raised in which I spoke about how we have a democratic deficit in Wales. I literally say tories are unelectable.

Jeez why did I come back it’s so tedious on here

Righio, thought it must be, the speed cushions were removed years ago, at least that should keep, traffic there flowing, albeit a bit slower.

Get on the RWC thread if your bored ? What's your take on Bundee Aki?
Do you think Éire can hold on?
He moves faster than 20mph in a built up area that's for sure 👊💥🇮🇪

Fair enough to the first part of your post.

Does 20mph feel slow on roads we're used to doing 30 on? Yes of course it does, but people have to get used to it. I'm not convinced the change is a good one overall and I certainly don't think it's been rolled out well, but it doesn't look like it's going anywhere and it's far too early to say it's a disaster just because some doughnuts are spitting out their dummies over it. The one thing that evidence does support is that serious injury and death occur far more often when you hit a pedestrian at 30mph than if you hit them at 20mph.

Serious question, do you think that all these serious injuries and deaths are by someone doing 30mph?

I will tell you what I think, I think these serious injuries have occurred in a 30mph limit zone, and I think that the people that caused them, were doing a lot more than 30.

Obviously it's common sense, that the faster something hits you, the more damage it's going to cause, but all the stats show is the accidents that occurred in the 30 zone, doesn't show what speed they were travelling, hell for all I know, they could have been doing 20? I doubt that though. But I think when the WAG presents the figures like they have is slightly disingenuous.

Well if you're right, imagine the improvement if everyone doing 40 in a 30 zone now does 30 in a 20 zone? It would be common sense that would improve things and is a step in the right direction.

All jokes aside, they have been on about the pollution in the Hafod Neath Road for years, makes you think why anyone buy a flat(house) in the new buildings down the Morfa, traffic non stop there.

The democratic deficit? What you mean when you say that, what you’ve always meant every time you’ve said it over the years, is that Wales singularly and stubbornly refuses to vote they way you think it should. The U.K. as a whole has far more of a democratic deficit than Wales does. And frankly you’ve picked a terrible example as well when this policy was trailed and announced by the governing party in the Senedd and the law was passed by the same institution. Following a full public consultation. You may not agree with it, that’s fine. I’ve no strong view either way as I’ve said. But to use this as an example of a failure of democracy is, frankly, nonsense.

I’ll stop here. There zero point you say the same things over and over again.

You can’t see it because you’re comfortable with the situation. You have no issue with one party state that is encroaching more and more on civil liberties. It suits you because it’s your politics.

I’m simply saying that if there was an alternative there would be a change I’m 110% sure of it. But there isn’t so we’re stuck.

You’re an intelligent man but you’re blinded by your affiliation. You’re all about reforms in London but are more comfortable because it suits.

There’s no way the majority of Wales supports corbynism by the way. No way and you know this but as I said with a compliant media a sh!te opposition and voter apathy there’s no hope.

I have been raging about this for a while because I have seen it coming for a while. The 20mph policy is just one example of the controlling nature of this one party state government. But that’s me done on this thread.

This is the same self serving whiny nonsense you’ve been spouting for decades. Not everyone agrees with you. Not everyone will vote the way you think they should. Accept that and you’ll be much happier. I’m left of centre but I have no affiliation to Labour and I’ve no idea why you’ve mentioned Corbyn. You’re right of centre and I know you’re not wedded to the Tories, especially the current incarnation which bears no resemblance to the Conservative Party of even 15 years ago.

All that said, it’s always a pleasure to talk shit with you.

Mark Drakeford is a self declared Corbyn advocate on the hard left of the party. He’s never denied it

He’s never said it either. The Welsh government is not in any way, shape or form “hard left” and it’s an absolute nonsense to pretend that it is.

Ffs he voted for Corbyn and is on record as saying he is on the left. I listened to him talking about his political stance which is very much in the left tradition.

Welsh labour are very much on the left on everything they touch. There is a big divide with London labour who would definitely be open minded to market forces.

They are prohibited from more extremes by the simple problem of being unable to enact and it suits them not to raise money as this creates the blame tories narrative for everything

Come on CB admit it

You’ve now shifted from saying “hard left” to being “on the left”. Lolz.

Ok hard left. Pure semantics.

He’s on left wing CB, he would be on the socialist wing in Parliament.

Again it’s getting boring. You think everything is either centre or right wing because you’re so bloody left wing. I never realised it until now.
