• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I used to go along Mumbles/Oystermouth Road, up High Street, Llangefelach Road and then to DVLA.
Now I carry on to New Cut Road, Morfa Road up past the Liberty, Neath Road by pass, Vicarage Road to Clasemont Road. Leave the house 7.15 arrive about 7.45. Leaving earlier I miss the school traffic.
The return trip takes a lot longer, but similar to before the speed limit changes, due to the volume of traffic.

The best part of that is you missing the worst of the traffic. I think the only 20 stretch it up to and including Vicarage road from Neath road. Those roads are not easy to get over 20 from my experience. That not bad going from Mumbles. I saw the road from tycoch all the way through cockett and up to ravenhill is now 20 which is one to avoid in the morning when it was 30 anyway.
I was concerned this morning as I travelled between dunvant and gowerton that the 40 zone seems to have had the sign painted out suggesting it is 20.

The road from Tycoch to Cockett, there is one 30 stretch, I call that road broadway?, but the 30 zone starts from where the mini roundabout was, and stops around the junction with the cockett inn.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand another full working week with absolutely zero difference to my travel time or fuel consumption.

Anyone know what day / date the absolute carnage and gridlock is going to start?

That’s probably because no f*cker appears to be doing 20mph mind.
Well it’s not what I’m seeing anyway.

I call fibs!!

Unless you were driving at 20mph before, then no way hose, can you go slower and have zero difference in travel time.

It's the kind of question you get in junior school, if a man drives 3 miles, what speed will get him there quicker a:20mph or b;30mph, I bet if you had that question in school, you would say say where's option c? Both the same.

Darran is once again correct, every time Drakeford gets up on that podium with a suit that's too big for him, they just roll their eyes and carry on

Yes, I agree it's mainly ignored! Until I hit the road myself, a few days into it, it's clear to see it's being ignored. I thought maybe when I first showed my concerns over this, I did get the general impression that, that I could have been in the wrong, but it seems on my travels so far, that rough estimations over 95% of the Swansea public, don't agree with it, and are carrying on, the way they were before.

People drive like lunatics on 20mph roads anyway, before this demand from government, people just overtake the oldies who shouldn't be driving anyway, before this demand.. the government need to realise that they can't labotomise every person in the UK to do the perceived correct thing.. humans are like animals, we're all feral, according to Darwin anyway

Oldies aren't too bad, I have witnessed absolutely atrocious driving from foreigners, absolutely on the verge of dangerous, no way the ones I have seen, have passed their test.
