Is it really working with/for Duff?

I'd say the decision to bring Duff in probably comes from Watson no? He's the guy in charge of football, I don't doubt Andy, Jason and co gave the nod of approval but you can't say the owners are directly responsible for that appointment. They've clearly stated they are concentrating on DC United, so the question we have to be concerned with is when will the money stop coming in, and are we going to be able to make strides before that happens.

We just have to hope we can become at least competitive at the top end of the table and someone like Nigel Morris decides he wants to give us another 5-10 years of funding our losses by buying more shares.

There are far worse owners out there than our lot.

The issue is, year on year since they have taken over, we have gradually dropped further and further down.
There has never been one real feel if optimism since they have been here, play off final against Brentford a real example.......we entered that game with a real feel on inevitability that we would likely lose.

There could certainly be worse owners out there but that's not really an example that sits right considering the failures they have overseen since they stepped foot in the club.

10th, 6th, 4th, 15th, 10th is not "year on year" decline.

Your closing comment is inarguable. There are some absolutely atrocious owners out there, far worse.

For balance though, just because that's true, doesn't mean we have to be happy with ours. Nor does it mean we shouldn't challenge them to be better. They are on the whole pretty dismal owners who clearly have little care for the health of the football team, and have proved that time and again since coming here.

They aren't even very good at what they claim to be good at i.e. cutting our cloth accordingly. The club's run at a loss pretty much every year they've been here.

So yeah - could be worse. But not much.

And who exactly, is going to pump all these millions of pounds into a lower/mid table Championship club to facilitate this "top to bottom " reset Rog old boy?
Not having a go, just wondering if there's any oil rich sheikhs out there that we might attract the attention of...

Who knows? Why do wealthy people buy other Championship clubs and turn them round?

Until we get new owners, we will never be better than we currently are. Our owners have ZERO ambition.

Fuck my eyes Roger, you are spot on there. Never thought I'd say that but credit where it's due.

To be honest mate, I’ve said it for years if you look at my older posts. Clubs with owners like ours will always just tread water. They’re not passionate owners, they’re money men watching the bank balance.

Very true

Equally we could have owners who bankrupt us as happened after a fall from old Division 1 and other bigger clubs than us who have taken years to get back up the ladder

I don’t understand what Duff sees. In his interview he sounds like he thinks we bossed that, peppered their goal with shots and played well.

In reality their keeper didn’t have a difficult save to make, the only time I thought we were about to score was when it opened up ahead of Patino and it was a desperate display of moving people around to see if something worked. It even too a while to realise we didn’t have a right back until Fulton slotted in there (and next minute he was tackling on the left touchline). No shape, little clue, not much desire and simply not good enough.

With the poisonous scum dwarf rumoured to be in charge of Rotherham by next week, we are right up against it.

It's totally disjointed and based on sweat and running hard.

It's absolute disaster waiting to happen........unless Duff changes ways or he gets sacked, they are the only outcomes that are going to change our fortunes.
It's dinosaur, lower league pragmatic rubbish.

Your first and last sentences there absolutely nail where we are and the situation we're in, perfectly put.

I thought Cooperball was basic and uninspiring stuff, but this is on a different stratosphere entirely. 19 games in (21 if you want to include cup) and I still genuinely have no idea what sort of team he wants us to be. It's an absolute shambles.

Eh? We played classic Martinball today, just lacking Piroe and Ntcham to do something. Back, side in, out, back, side, rinse and repeat. Nothing to do with sweat at all.
