I can’t find the post you’re replying to, but I agree with them. There’s something there, but we’re not playing to his strengths. If we got the ball to him through the centre I think we’d see a different player. He picks good positions at the edge of the box and has a rocket shot. He’s poor from crosses (he hides) and all our play is out wide. Stick a proper midfield and number 10 in that team and I think we’d see a different Vip.

As we play though, he’s obviously been disappointing. As most of them have this season (so it’s a Williams/coaching issue).

I agree, our sole attacking plan is to constantly put aerial crosses into the box (and our left back is the only one who can consistently do this). But we're trying pick out 2 small forwards who's strengths aren't heading the ball. We do desperately need some attacking threat down the middle to occasionally out a through ball in (remember them!?) Or God forbid have a long range shot.

It's a good signing. I was very excited with this Man City boy so that is a big kick in the teeth

Maybe I'm still at the bargaining stage of the grief process, but if we can get one more in having secured O'Brien, maybe we can stumble our way to safety this season. Will probably require sacking Williams soon and having a capable replacement though.

We will get the typical yank enthusiasm speech tomorrow trying to tell us we’ve signed an incredible young player from Sweden beating off a host of clubs, we’ve got experienced O Brien after putting in a big outlay to bring him here, we have faith in the players and Luke for the rest of the season to deliver the Swansea way to all you jacks out there.
