If that's true, then either Martin really didn't rate him, or he needed to be sold for new players to be signed.

£600k profit on a player who scored 14 goals last season and had 2 years left on his contract certainly doesn't sound good.

I don’t know why people are still so annoyed about the fee!? He was a player that Martin clearly didn’t want, so do we say to Martin “tough, go with him - no one is willing to pay what the fans think he’s worth” or do you take the only offer on the table which is enough money to cover his replacement? It’s a no brainer - get rid.

Did I say it was a good deal?! Sometimes the right deals are not always good deals, however we’ve (on the face of it) spent the money on an upgrade in terms of replacement.
Would you rather us have him still in the squad and no Obafemi? I know what I’d prefer.
