I, as well as a handful of others on here were unhappy with Cork leaving. I don’t think Grimes will ever be at that level.

With you on that, Cork was a proven mid-table Prem midfielder vs Grimes with a fair bit to prove - sit him centrally alongside a strong ‘dog/water carrier’ & he might look ok but for me more Championship than Prem level.

Yes, if Watford get promotion they’ll replace him for the Premier League.

Aye. If Watford get promoted and Grimes plays a decent number of games they should have no problem getting at least their money back on him by selling him to one of next season's relegated clubs.

Massive player for us.

Easily Premier League quality.

He is not a prem player . Too many aspects of his game is lacking to make that step up.

Easily good enough for the Premier League.

Fee apparently going to be £7.5m with add ons.

Managing to get someone to pay £7.5m for Grimes is one hell of a note for Birch to depart on.

You're doing that thing you used to do with Trundle again.

I'm really trying but I can't for the fucking life of me see why you've typed that sentence, honestly.

PS.. Not a dig at you, please enlighten me as to your above opinion.

big loss for us, he was excellent for most of last season.

still, not irreplaceable, and if we get 7-8m, you can't grumble too much.

No real loss for me, he was part of a midfield that got steamrolled too many times for my liking last season especially at the Liberty. The pieces of the the puzzle in midfield has needed to change for some time, it's been our main weakness for to many seasons now.

He did ok in some games and was poor in others, can not remember him being excellent. :?

First class.

Tended to vary between 5 - 7 out of 10 for me, rarely an 8 but didn’t drop below 5. Given way too much licence on set pieces, particularly free kicks around the box & in my eyes not influential enough to be captain.

I’d take £7M + add-ons, my only concern would be our American friends will suggest to Cooper another one of his loan buddies would make an ideal replacement and with 3 loan spots already taken plus we need a few more players we need at least some degree of budget.
