I have a fairly major dislike of Monk for his actions since his playing days but he would have been right on a player for that. Not hiding behind his beard like the fraudulent M.GrimesView attachment 4960
This needs plonking on this thread as a reminder of how much our "captain" cares when we let a midget mark a 6-footer at a set piece, and subsequently concede a game-ending goal.
"Not my problem, guv"....

Even our standout captain and leader was as dejected as dejected gets under Williams’ Martin-shaped malaise.View attachment 4960

You’ve been banned before. You don’t support the Swans just grimes. Both of you can ferk offWell, entertainingly the usual challenged types here haven't disappointed with their meek, shallow, schoolboy level analysis of Matty.
The last time he was rested was (ironically) against Saints in the Cup.
Downs played CDM (and captain, i think).
It was a disaster of a decision by Martin - we were shocking from the off, had no control whatsoever, rabbits in the headlights. We were Downs and out. Matty came on 2nd half, wrested control, got us back into the game, got us level and took us into extra time.
They'll never make that mistake again.
As for Matty dropping so deep - how on earth can some here still not get that as El Capitan and responsible intelligent Leader he is duty-bound to keep far too close a watching brief on Cabungle. Matty's natural instincts draws him back into the deep quarterback pivot. It's his job to cover for our calamitous Cabungle-shaped Achilles heel. Heck he'd far rather play in the progressive 8 slot. An England u21 international of massive promise - the next Glen Hoddleby many accounts.
Without Matty, Lukey would be gone in a heartbeat. Oh, hang on........ take a rest Matty......
Most consistently average non stand out and ineffective. Come on you’re way better than this NeathieMost consistent player for years. As an attacking midfielder he can be outstanding. If Franco could do the Bodde bit, Cooper (or AN Other) do the Pratley bit, he would excel as someone in the ilk of Alan Davies or Cornforth. Creative on the ball and holding the midfield and attack together.
However, he seems to have decided/been deployed as a defensive outlet, spending more time at CB than the CB's, which is a waste of time and BLOODY INFURIATING
He was like this last time with Downes (who went for 12 million). Just ignore the rampant trollGrimes couldn't cover half the ground Franco does if roles were swapped
I think he’s the master mason at the Lodge here. Gets to play every game without question. He’s the Scott Mills of SCFCI must admit it did strike me as a bit odd when I read the article a little earlier.
Also find it odd how much influence at the club Grimes seems to have.
Kevin Cullis did that and Cusack took the team talk. Does anyone here remember Kevin Cullis ? And what happened to him afterwards? It's either very naive or completely foolish to come out and tell the world you left the dressing room to the captain and players before and during a championship match. Something doesn't add up.
Music to my ears and a massive nail on head.So we need to get shot of Williams, because he clearly can't control his squad, and also get shot of Grimes, because no player should overrule his manager.
Sorted.![]()
Aw come on. Cream crackers and cement serve useful purposesGrimes fanboys are a little bit unhinged aren't they.
It's like being outrageously enthusiastic about cream crackers. Or cement.
As brave as sir RobinNot 3 and 7, obvs.
He is a manager’s dream - the manager’s master tactician, executing strategy with calm, assured aplomb.
Most importantly to us fans he is the last remaining corporate glue that binds us to our playing heritage, our ‘edge’. And does his darndest to keep our wayward managers as true to our identity as possible - as witnessed most dramatically most recently.
There’s no wonder Martin refers to him as the ‘bravest’ he’s ever had the pleasure of working with. Heck, Matty saved his vegan bacon, lifted him off the ropes when he was at his very lowest Ebb - off and on the pitch.
Funny as heck reading some of the schoolboy level critique, and oh so telling.
