If Williams does leave it will be interesting to see if he makes a move for Captain Fantastic

He won't. For the same reasons Potter, Cooper and Martin all didn't.

As Dr W has said, there have been countless bigger clubs with loads of cash further up the food chain who could have had him if they'd wanted to. But not a dickie bird.

One certainly is 👀

Tbf, if you had a stake in a football club and you don't know much about the sport you've bought into, but there's one player who looks like he could make you a few £ if you ever sold him, you'd probably blow a bit of smoke up his ass wouldn't you 😜

Wonder what his running stats are like? I'd love to know how much of the pitch he covers.

I'm not going to blow smoke up Grimes ass, and I'm not saying he's Premier League standard, but at this moment, taking everything into account, we are a better side with him in it than without.

Just my tuppence worth.
Yep. First name on the team sheet, but he’s not flawless either.

Our best player. A small handful of our fans hate him for some bizarre reason .

They will jump on any small mistake he makes but other players get a free ride .

A very good Captain also .
The criticism isn't that bizarre, he can be far too ponderous on the ball and often slows the play down to the extent we're fairly impotent going forward.

Not so sure other players get a free ride, most people on here are quite vocal (me included) when others have had a mare, we're also quick to heap praise when they've had a decent game as well.

Not sure about the Captain bit, he's far from captain material, that might be down to my perception of what a leader on the pitch should look like.

We wound't know, he plays every available minute.

I didn’t mention criticism

I said Hate . You Could be in that small crowd as you hoped he was injured not long ago .

“Far from captain material “
I’m amazed all the managers We’ve had heap praise on him and still picked him as captain .
They all seem to disagree with you .

None of them have been that fussed on taking him with them either which speak volumes.

Also it's a stark reminder of the lack of leadership in the squad over recent years as well. That maybe the root cause as to why we seem to collapse in the majority of games and hang on until the final whistle.

Hate is strong word, I think you're looking for something that isn't there.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing him out of the side for a while. At least that way we will finally find out how instrumental he is to the team.

For the avoidance of any doubt, and posted elsewhere:
Matty Our MVP, has been golden-handcuffed for yonks.
Thanks to our astute owners who ‘get’ our club and playing heritage.
