• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Jamie Vardy was the same age. Worth a punt - get it sorted mun! What is there to lose?
Yes, Ian Wright only started scoring regularly for Crystal Palace when he was 25 and signed for Arsenal just before his 28th birthday. He didn’t do badly at Highbury.

Is this thread about suggesting we should take a punt on a Merthyr striker because he is scoring lower league goals

If so then god help us
I wasnt suggesting we should buy him. It's just for me an interesting side story from another Welsh Club. I mean

23/24 - 38 goals
24/25 - 33
25/26 - 21
in November - league goals only - 18 games played = 46 game season - and in higher league this season

Am I the only one who tried googling Erling Reesand as I didn't know who he was and found nothing :ROFLMAO:

So, his name is actually Ricardo Rees ;)
There's a chap in the gym I speak to most days, but especially Mondays, catch up on the football, he always asks about Wycombe and I do the same with Merthyr.

I had read the thread before you posted so was eager to show that I knew about this particular player and he had no clue who I was talking about. Kept telling me it was Ricardo Rees, I even showed him the title.

After the gym i read the rest of the thread!! Now I get it.

Kenny Deuchar - not so much non league but the good doctor was always one who people tallked up back in the day
Gretna! There is a blast from the past.
I remember when Dai Webley was being discussed, didn't he come down to train with us for a week?

Regards this Rees, looks like he is coming up to 26 soon. Realistically due to his age, we wouldn't take the punt but might certainly as suggested above be worth Newport taking a chance on him.
