• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Not when we're responsible for the maintenance bill now. Where do you think the money will come from? The same pot that pays for players no doubt

Oh I dunno, looking at the state of the stadium at the moment sums up the general malaise that has seems to have taken over the club this last few years, but yes, as you say, probably bigger fish to fry...

Damn, I read this as Messi on the Liberty. He's over 30 after all.

Rather have Ronaldo the GOAT.
Although, we'll probably have to settle for a couple of donkeys.

The trouble is that architects and designers of stadiums don't give a toss..or have to...because once you sign it off, it is then entirely up to the owner to maintain.
A good owner will have looked at the elaborate shit on the outside...mostly purely artistic licence...and said no way.
The irony is that these are soulless bowls on the inside....and they try and make them "creative" on the outside. That creativity can come back to bite you...

It’s the way of a lot of things these days. It’s very common place in house building, where they go for the cheapest option, drive costs down by using cheaper materials, cut corners, use unqualified tradesmen and bingo! There a lot of short term thinking and little regard for future, if customers refused to buy the product these companies would be forced to buck their ideas up.

In terms of the Liberty, as the crow flies the stadium is a couple of miles from the sea and it’s salty air, rust was always a possibility.

One way of looking at it is these cockwombles
wont want to deal with the continually increasing maintenance issues as it becomes an albatross around their necks , just more pressure for them to cash out asap ...every cloud and all that jazz !

New stadium or complex redevelopment once the Ospreys have left.

The new owners can't be blamed for this one. Very sneaky of the council if they were aware of the "warranty".
The club or next new owners should be looking for land for the next new stadium.
