A lot of fans will hate this, he's talking about entertaining!!!
Looking forward to bringing in a team ….🤔

Saying what we all want to hear. Sounds good. There’s no way I’ll be falling in love with a manager until he’s proven himself over a few seasons though.

Liking his positivity, why we he not want to bring in "his team" if he feels the need?

I loved that he kept repeating 'identity'
This is the most excited I've been for a season for a while now

It sounds like he has some signings lined up, and that he's happy with a lot of the squad

I also think he's someone who's admired us for a while and that he's always considered coming here

Interested to see who he brings in signings wise, Ethan Laird from Man United is meant to be highly rated and played at MK last season on loan, wouldn’t surprise me seeing him come in.

I thought he spoke fairly well, he did point out that it will take time for his methods to bed in, what the fans will be looking for is us trying to play the right way even if sometimes the players get it wrong.

If they get it as wrong as MK yesterday the reaction would be “interesting”

A league 1 side vs a championship team with a premier league squad that also plays football was rarely going to end in any other way than it did

"Premier league squad"... bit of a stretch that 🤔

A tad, definitely one of the favourites this season though with Premier league quality players like Brooks, solanke etc

I’m hopeful that part of the discussions would have involved him ether getting the club to put off selling Grimes or getting them to agree to a suitable replacement. Grimes in a side with movement and purpose ahead of him would be very useful.

Hopefully the latter.

There may be something I'm missing but I've never been much of a Grimes fan. If we've managed to get anyone to pay approaching £4m for him I'd much rather have the cash to reinvest.

First name on the team sheet for me. He does far more work in front of the defence than he ever gets credit for. A ball winning, deep lying playmaker that you could base Martin’s style around. There were about 4 or 5 times that S’ton could run from their own half straight at our defence yesterday through our massive hole in midfield. Most wouldn’t have happened with Matty in there. He’d also have been an outlet for the many times we struggled to play out from the keeper.

He’s not Pirlo and he’s not Leon. But he’s the best we’ve had since Leon.

From a morale point too it’ll be bad if he goes. Losing your captain to a rival suggests we’ve given up on promotion. Hopefully Martin’s first job is to persuade him to stay.

Agree absolutely. He does a lot of work off the ball closing down space. That was clearly missing yesterday.

Give me the very underrated Fulton every time, a player who could easily fill the Grimes roll and not afraid to put his body on the line... 4 million for Grimes mind, fùckin daylight robbery

… and he’s not Ferrie, but he does a bit of what they both did, but without the heavy lifters we had back then. He can’t do it on his own so he’s hopelessly exposed and in a Cooper side he had all options taken away from him. A decent manager would bring in and Allen or Britton to play alongside him and build the side around it.

We have to be honest and admit that the dislike for Grimes goes far deeper than football. It goes right back to when he went out on loan and his mother started chopsing on Twitter about how he was better of at a big club away from Swansea. That’s was it after that, no one ever gave Leon shit for passing sideways did they.

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Very different players. It’s correct to say that Fulton is not afraid of a tackle but where people are incorrect is when they call him a ball winning or holding midfielder because of it. Fulton is very much an attacking midfielder, a very good footballer in fact, and Grimes is a deep lying playmaker. Apples and oranges.

A fair summing up.
