• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Extending the contracts of these two players is more financially viable than bringing in their replacements.

Suggesting the club has kept them on out of sentiment is nonsense. They've been kept on based on merit.
Merit you say! Over the course of their previous contracts signed, you believe they both merit 2 year contracts?

For the record, I believe Fulton was deserving of a contract just not a 2 year one.

I don’t think sentiment exists with the decision makers, they don’t strike me as the type.
Issue here, they were probably advised on these contracts.
I do agree though, I believe when the time comes that they wouldn't hesitate stepping in and allowing the axe to drop if something was obvious and clear.

Fulton gets a contract because the manager rates him.
Fisher gets a contract as a safe option. What keeper of any quality is going to come here as number 2 keeper?

Based on an upturn in recent performances they've have quite rightly been rewarded.

Sends out a great message to others, put the work in and you get what you deserve.

It's common sense unless you're a David Icke type of supporter.

That's me done, muchas gracias amigo.

This contact hasn’t been awarded on basis of what happened under Sheehan and those before him, it’s based on what’s happened since Matos arrived and how the club sees the role of Fulton from this point onwards.

Dont perform for a couple of years and then perform forthe last 3 months and get rewarded for it.
Makes sense I suppose 👍

Hence why I suggested a 1 year contract at first.
Hopefully Fulton is rejuvenated under Matos long term and not just the last few months.

I really hope I am praising Fulton come 12 months time. A few months ago, I wouldn't have even considered Fulton for a new contract but in recent months I have felt he is deserving of a contract offer but I think 1 year might have been the better option.

This event would always create a healthy debate.

He was part of the worst midfield we have had at this club in the modern era. Literally bored people to sleep, and drove thousands away from watching the club. His latest contract has only seen him come to life towards the very end of it. All those are facts . And his reward for all that? Unbelievably another 2 year contract . The club have lost the plot.
