I’ve heard we’re one of the 3 teams not yet announced... after our glorious 3-0 win in Valencia they wanted the Swans on tour permanently

Jose Mourihno sacked... I’m guessing over differences with the European Super League... he won’t be the last.

Can’t see Klopp standing for it.

“Tottenham Hotspur are understood to have sacked Jose Mourinho after an ‘explosive' morning where he refused to take players onto the training ground over the club’s proposed European Super League admission.”

Point of principle or just being a bit cr@p?
If it's down to the European thing he's gone up in my estimations

Pembrokeshire don’t have a team saint, although they do have the bluebirds plus legions of our followers..... ;)

I'm not buying it. Seems more like an extremely effective diversion tactic, so they held off on firing him until the ESL announcement. I could be totally wrong of course.

I'm with ECB, this will never happen and is more of a scheme for those clubs to get more control over current competitions. I wonder if it will end with all of them guaranteed a CL place every season no matter where they finish in the league?

It will be hilarious if the FA, UEFA etc call their bluff and refuse to offer incentives for them to stay. I imagine they'll then come crawling back begging for forgiveness.

The only thing funnier is the PL spitting out their dummy at this. You didn't give a toss about screwing over the rest of the league back in 1992 and have done everything possible to hoard the money for yourselves since then at the expense of everyone else, so go f*ck yourselves.

There’s no comparison to what the PL did in 92. There’s still promotion and relegation and money feeding down this is a closed shop.

5 teams would qualify annually on top of the planned 15 teams who would be guaranteed their spot, so not quite a closed shop.

If it works as planned, the extra money earned by those 15 clubs would in reality make it very difficult for the annual 5 qualifying teams to compete with the others. That doesn't sound too different to the PL model to me.

I'm not arguing that it's not grotesque, but so was the creation of the PL. It's a bunch of teams voting in their own selfish interests and happily screwing over the rest while talking about the financial benefits that will trickle down to the other clubs. For the PL as an entity to be outraged by this with zero self-awareness is just hilarious.

Pesky sport getting in the way of making money.

A complete bugger having the risk of actually having to win games to qualify for anything. Far easier to remove that risk.

I’m not entirely certain this is all a big bluff to be honest. The clubs have all resigned from the ECA and Woodward has resigned from UEFA. Those are pretty big bridges to rebuild for the sake of a bluff.

It will kill football of course. Irrespective of whether the so called ‘big 6’ (when did Spurs actually last win anything btw?) are kicked out of the premier league, the money they’ve been given to sign up for this renders the ‘sport‘ a waste of time. The premier league becomes a waste of time anyway as you can’t qualify for anything (5 open spaces - that’s a joke - which 5 countries?) so the fight for the top 4 etc is meaningless and what are the big 6 playing for any longer?

Football was always going to eat itself with greed combined with owners that wouldn’t understand the history of the game here and the depth of community links if it was explained to them a million times over.

Social media highlights the problem - all the fans in the U.K. saying how appalling it is, while those in Africa, Far East, US all thinking it’s great. And Man Utd’s shares have gone up by 7%!

Hopefully it will all come crashing down around their stupid greedy heads.

Wotever happens needs to be decided asap. If the PL have the cahoonas to boot out those 6,and replace em with 6 from the championship, thers a whole heap of issues there.
Personally cant see the breakaway happening, most probably a shift of monies distributed and this being a tactical manoeuvre towards it.

Imagine how boring it would be...these 'massive' fixtures are interesting because they happen rarely. It'll make money of course from fans of these clubs from around the world, but it'll be shite for 'proper' fans.

...and I hope that they don't get any sort of better financial package after this...screw them.
