The problem we have here is that the club is in a terrible situation. We have just lost parachute payments and we have owners who have decided that financial stability is our no 1 priority. Whilst that sounds like a reasobale aim they will do it not by investment but by continuing to deplete the playing squad. Were competitive last season by using loans and by having Ayew. Now Andre is gone and it seems that even loans are out of our price range.

The way I see it and Eustace and Cooper can see this too, is that we are heading for league 1 if not this season then certainly next after the yanks spend another season degrading the clubs playing squad. Does anyone seriously think that if any players leave they will be adequately replaced. We cant even stand still at the moment let alone improve.

Excellent post sir 👏

I thought Toshack had glowing reports from his U23 days saying the style of play was good.

He did.

His teams play the way everyone has been saying they want us to play.

I think he’ll be a sensible appointment.

Did you see any of his games in Cyprus?

No, of course I didn’t. I never understand how everyone has seen so many games all round the place. I did see a few of the 23s matches though, and read a lot of him talking about a flowing style with an emphasis on attacking.
I wouldn’t th8nk of watching a game in Cyprus - I barely watch the premier league 😁😁

No I’m the same as you, but those who did don’t seem to think he played a brand of football anything like a flowing style though.

What sort of club was he at there? I’m not sure we will end up with much choice to be honest, although I find it odd that Gudjohnsen is in the betting other than didn’t he have a nephew or something in our academy for a while?

That’s a bad thing now?

It is looking that way to be honest, I’m not as confident with him as most though personally. Gut feeling.

Fair enough. I mean I can’t say it feels like a Laudrup moment to me… I’ve just given up a little bit I think. Feels bit like I used to when we were crap for years and it was all a bit meh when we appointed quite a few managers.

Joe Rodon’s old man said on Twitter a few weeks ago he would be amazed if we were still in championship after this season, and he didn’t a promotion charge either

It’s starting to feel like safety next year would be a pearler of a season.

Mid table stability for a few years while we try to develop something would be great.

Watching us at Plymouth it seems a big ask at the moment.

why though risk? There's no way the squad as it is is relegation fodder..

lowe, fulton, smith, walsh, manning, bidwell, latib, bennett, cabango, naughton

then you have roberts and grims who havent gone yet

Swansea City v Leeds United
