Go on then ... show me the money spent .. give me a list. Then money received

you really dont understand t you dickweed.

Say you get 10 million in for a player, that doesnt mean you have 10 milion to spend - its probably nearer the 5million makr when you take into account wages, signing on fees, agent fees etc etc. You also have to use some of that to ensure you can afford things moving forwards and not end up like Derby - is that easy enough for you, or would you like another hour on FIFA?

I thought Toshack had glowing reports from his U23 days saying the style of play was good.

He did.

His teams play the way everyone has been saying they want us to play.

I think he’ll be a sensible appointment.

Indeed.

We as fans are going to need more patience than ever if this happens but it would be the right appointment at this time.

As Eustace is a bust I'd agree with you. Oddly enough Cam was an early favourite for me until I read up on Eustace but either his bottle is dodgy or it is his focus(money?London?)

I said in my next line it’s a reasonable objective. It’s how it is secured if it were through outside investment by the owners, I would be all for it.

A club dependent upon regular injections of cash from elsewhere is not financially stable.

As ever, it boils down to people demanding that the club spend more money than it can afford to sustain through its own activities.

‘Yet’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that post.

Bennet looked shocking at Plymouth btw as did Latib - they looked like they were running through treacle,

Is Roberts likely to be going anywhere this summer?

It's a pre-season friendly. Of course they looked off the pace.

Owner investment is now a bad thing, well thats a new one.

They were playing a team who were also in a pre season friendly mun. It’s all relative. I’ll clarify, ‘they looked like they were running through treacle compared to the League 1 forwards and midfield playing against them who were also playing in a pre season friendly.’

It's generally accepted though that pre-season friendlies are just about having a run out aren't they? We're too long in the tooth to think they are an indicator of what is to come.

What budget do you think we should have for a summer transfer window? Is £5million too much?

The budget (which will include wages, agents fees, signing on fees, not just the transfer fee) should be whatever we can afford without going into the red.

If that's less than £5m, then yes £5m is too much.

It seems that we can't even afford to offer Grimes a new contract on his current wages, which should tell you something about where we're at financially, as I can't imagine he's on huge money.

I think the next set of accounts to be published will give us an idea on how badly affected we've been by Covid?

By all that`s Holy not the Toshack riding on the back of of his fathers name.

The problem we have here is that the club is in a terrible situation. We have just lost parachute payments and we have owners who have decided that financial stability is our no 1 priority. Whilst that sounds like a reasobale aim they will do it not by investment but by continuing to deplete the playing squad. Were competitive last season by using loans and by having Ayew. Now Andre is gone and it seems that even loans are out of our price range.

The way I see it and Eustace and Cooper can see this too, is that we are heading for league 1 if not this season then certainly next after the yanks spend another season degrading the clubs playing squad. Does anyone seriously think that if any players leave they will be adequately replaced. We cant even stand still at the moment let alone improve.
I keep coming back to the same thing though - we did it last time by establishing a playing style which everyone understood, and was executed with aplomb (as opposed to the plum we've had for the past 2 seasons). We didn't have/need any superstars, high earners really back then did we - it was very much a collective.
