I was thinking about the wheelchair racist at the Liverpool game on Friday.
Have they actually got a recording or footage of what he said.
Going by the current evidence on the surface so for this incident it seems easier to get off it by pleading not guilty than the Ricky Jones case.

Yes I understand that but it’s Semenyo’s word against his and as for his record of abusing players which could then be corroborated by people around him he could come out and say they’re making it up because they don’t like him.
I’m not disagreeing with you I just think we are going down a worrying road with Jones being found not guilty.
Is there any evidence picked up on CCTV or something that a lip reader could confirm as an expert witness for the prosecution.

It would be a different charge. Jones got off as the prosecution had to convince the jury that there was intent to incite violence. This would be a lesser charge of using racist or discriminatory language. There may well be footage, but that's not going to be released as it could prejudice any action.

Yes it’s an interesting one.
I saw a photo on Twitter taken by whoever sits next to the alleged racist of the sleeve of his replica Liverpool shirt saying something like No Room For Racism which made me think if it would in any way damage the case.

Maybe, but that assumes this goes to Crown Court. Either way the bloke was a Grade 'A' prick and won't be seeing the inside of Anfield again any time soon.

Maybe he had a strong local accent and it was misinterpreted. Doubt that though. Anfield was notoriously racist back in the 70s and 80s despite an integrated black population-this book https://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/barnes-storm/ exposed that around John Barnes joining the club. Although most scousers are great there are a few racists still. Just as there are in Swansea.

I already said I disagreed with his views on abortion.

The thing is though, his view at least makes sense. If you genuinely believe life begins at conception which he does then however that conception occurs the ‘baby’ shouldn’t be punished for it. Otherwise it would be like saying someone should get the death penalty because their father is a rapist or a murderer.

The people with the most ridiculous views in many ways are those that claim they genuinely believe life begins at conception but think it’s ok to kill that life because it arose from a rape.

My view, for what it’s worth, is that life doesn’t begin at conception which is why I disagree with Rees Mogg on this (and most other things).

The populists would change their view depending on most recent polling.
