• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

It was totally unacceptable for the sake of football. Obviously a coached tactic, as the whole team seemed to have a turn at it.
Simple answer. Stop the match clock as in rugby.
It was bizarre tactics this early in the season, it disrupted their own game.

7 shots on target in 3 games.
4 of those were against Sheffield Utd.
Needs addressing as other than that, we’re looking ok.

Hive concern to me especially first half......how often was the ball in the air. We just seemed to be hoofing it up into no mans land.

We looked so much better with the ball at our feet.

Good point.

We’re at risk of becoming a vanilla Champ club with no real identity.

Desperately need a Leon pivot
Thought Galbraith was it but…

Galbraith has some very Leon like qualities. The game has moved on from our Swansealona days. We've also arguably had no real identity since Laudrup was in charge.

The high press has made playing that way very difficult and we had no time on the ball for a lot of the game today.

The issue of how many shots we get off is an interesting one. Obviously having a higher quality striker would improve things, but this may just be Sheehan's MO as a manager.

He's been in charge for 16 league games now, in which we have scored 19 goals (with 9 of those coming in 3 games) and conceded 12 goals. It could be that his strength is in making it hard to score against us, but at the expense of creating lots of chances.

Given where we were when he came in, I'm more than happy with what he's achieved so far. If he can find a way to keep us as solid at the back while creating more shooting opportunities, we'll be laughing.

To be fair Sheehan has openly said he will adapt game by game to set up against certain teams, so it’s never going to be a one style only play from us now.

Exactly like Steve Cooper did

Watford's time wasting game was elite today though, fair play. They should have had their physios wired up with GPS to get their distance covered/heatmap as they probably covered more of the pitch than the players did.
There’s probably a string of their fans along the Hafod gone down with ‘cramp’ on their way back to the station 🤣

I don’t think I’ve seen such shithousery in a long time. The ref should have been tougher with them.

Which is a concern for me.
I think you go into the opposition detail but you go out and win a game by playing the way you want to and not adjusting things to stop the opposition.

You need to bring things in to nulify the opposition but not to take away from what could be your own teams attributes.

Sheehan does seem to be a pragmatic type guy but I think you can be that and play football.

Total clusterfukc today, Vip should have started as target man because playing Cullen as solo striker is clearly not working. We should have buried those time wasters and played OUR game, not let them dictate us. It was clear they came to spoil when they played "the wrong end" after the toss.

Subs made a massive difference for us but too late.

Sheehan = poor selection and timing of subs. Can do better.

The two changes he made 10 minutes into the second half completely changed the game, so can't agree with you on that one.
