Im not sure what everyone has seen in widell performances to suggest hes the attacking threat that we are missing 🤷‍♂️ Yes hes physical and works hard (like our other midfielders) but in his 2 of his cup appearances hes missed sitters. Just not sure hes quite there yet.
I think he buries the city chance if he had scored before

Well based on our current attacking statistics could he possibly be any worse than what is on offer? You are Alan Sheehan and I claim my £5 reward .

I like the kid and be good for him to get a chance just not sure where this OTT analysis has come from that AS has got it all wrong so far on him.

Eom has had endless chances over a season and a quarter and still fails to deliver anything positive in most games. Yet he still continually gets more chances. Give Widell a chance, not 1 game, 10 or 15 like the rest have had.

It's funny how people view this game, if you had a look at the charlton post match thread you would see the following comments

"Swansea best team we have played this season"
"Swansea in a false position, can see them finishing between 8th-12th come end of the season.
"Swansea no10 best player on the pitch"
"Galbraith running the show"

If only are own fans could try being not critical with every performance...

Great to see Idah turn into Vipotnik and bury a half chance into the bottom corner. He has not shown much in general play yet but if Vipotnik is out injured then I am sure he will improve with more game time. I am not sure he will be worth the money paid but we are in a good place with them two as our striker and will need them both throughout the season.

Today was okay. We were the better organised and more controlled team but did not create enough real chances to deserve to win the game. May just be the story of our season and will lead us to a very midtable season with results in line with the first 13 games. We do not look like a side who will win lots of games in a row or lose them either.

I doubt the owners will be happy with that though. At some point Sheehan needs to convince them he can coach a team that creates more chances. The switch to a back 5 seems promising. Casey has not been our best signing but he might have the best career out of all of them so it makes sense to get him in the team while he is here and could make us better at set pieces. A lot of people have mentioned it in here but after that it feels like we need to just make sure as many minutes as possible go to Inoussa, Widell, Galbraith, Stamenic, Idah and Vipotnik. France will also play a lot. Yalcouye, Cullen and Eom will miss out and do not feel like a good fit. Ronald maybe worth playing at right wing back at times or could Yalcouye even play there, people say he is good at dribbling so must have seen him play in Austria.

We are stumbling a little right now and need a comprehensive win soon.

I'd like to see us play the 5 we did against Man City with the exception of Vip for Idah, so Yalcouye would be on the bench. Having said that, I think he'd play best when we're trying to impose ourselves on the opposition, like we did on Wednesday. I think he suffers from our slow tempo as much as anyone in the team.

Where would you play him? For me we would have to play Galbraith and Stamenic and then Franco if one of those was injured or rested. Then If he was playing as one of the front three we would end up with not enough attacking players on the pitch.

If you consider what we've played the last 2 games as a 5-3-2, then my first choice would be:

Vig
Casey
Cabango
Burgess
Key
Tymon
Franco/Stamenic
Galbraith
Widdell
Inoussa
Vipotnik

Yalcouye would probably be Galbraith's back-up in that team, albeit he's a very different player. He'd also probably be my choice to play further back in midfield if both Franco and Stamenic are unavailable. Or drop Galbraith back and put Yalcouye into his position.

I think he offers something different, being able to turn quickly and drive with the ball, something not many of our players look willing to do. He wouldn't be in my first choice team, but I do think he'd thrive in a team playing like we did from the start against Man City. Front foot play, taking the game to them and trying to impose ourselves. I don't think Yalcouye would be particularly creative if he replaced Widdell in that line-up, but I can certainly see him closing down passes and getting through on goal like Melker did against City.
