S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea 0 Coventry 3 | Att: 17,732 | 21.03.26 | EFL Champ | Swansea.com

Where to start.

Maybe with we were beaten by a better team, they are going to finish as champions.

Now goals change games obviously so who knows what the outcome could have been.
We had 5 excellent chances where at another time at least one of two would have gone in.
I've seen the penalty incident a few times and firmly believe the player had lost his footing before contact was made.
second half the game had gone so Coventry could play within themselves..
They had.more about them physically and athleticism. Using the pace and strength in attack.
As I've already said we had excellent chances but on other occasions attacking build up came to nothing due to wrong options or over playing.
I'll end with a mixed.message as we did enough to beat most sides but also at times highlighted where our failings are.
There are critical positions that need strengthening but with it must come athleticism and pace for next season.

I think my frustration is Eom has all the potential to be something special. His movement and cutting in sometimes is brilliant
But he is so hot and cold and brings nothing in assists or goal threat. I would be replacing him and Ronald in the summer.
He is hot and cold but there is rarely an end result.
Also in the build up to the second and third goal is actions were very poor.
In one overplayed
The other poor positioning.
Squad player at best but wouldn't be unhappy to see him leave

When did we last beat a championship promotion contender?

Must be back in Coopers time when we were contenders ourselves. Norwich game. Cant think of any since, but we've had several hidings.

That wasn't a hiding today. Scoreline flattered the shit out of them and could have easily been the other way around

Haven’t seen any of it today so keep that in mind.

A lot of the criticism I’m seeing is about missed chances and the CB partnership which I think are things we’ve known for a while now. We know we aren’t clinical when it matters and that something isn’t quite right defensively so we just have to wait and see if all that gets addressed in the summer. I feel like Matos will know the areas to recruit for and hopefully we can come into next season a more well rounded outfit.

As for Grimes, he was always a fantastic midfielder at this level and it’s a real shame that we lost him after 10 years, that really shouldn’t be happening but there was clearly a lot of upheaval at the time. He is a huge miss for us though.

His role at Cov is a lot different to when he was with us.

I feel bad for piling on Ronald, but oh my God, he is terrible!!

On the subject of terrible, Burgess heads a lot of balls out of our box, but otherwise his basic defending is really bad. He ball watches, cannot track a runner, tackles with the wrong foot, and turns like milk.
