S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea 1 Derby 2 | Att: 14,251 | 25/11/25 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

Thawing out at home.
Our team is broken. Nobody is helping the ball carrier and making themselves available. As a result we're so predictable in possession that it's painful. Derby are no great shakes but when they had possession there were numerous players on the move straight away giving options.
Both our strikers are prepared to make runs but the ball is moving predictably across the back, out to the wings and then back across the back again so it's a speculative pass to find them.
We don't look together at all. We're not a team at the moment.
Vitor, you need to be a miracle worker. Welcome to Swansea and good luck.
14 000 is a joke. There were more empty seats than occupied ones.

To be fair to him, I thought Fulton was some way off being one of our worst tonight.

Much of what we did that was good in the first half involved him. He moved the ball quickly and rarely took more touches than needed.

I defend him quite a bit and I'm not claiming that he's the answer, but 300 games in the top two divisions is no fluke. He's a much better player than most give him credit for.

Just got back from the game so not sure if it's been discussed but, apart from the completely gutless performances of all the players, the most disappointing thing for me was we seem to have yet another manager who makes like for like substitutions.

2:0 down with 10 minutes to go and he brings on another striker...by substituting the other one. Why not just put the two big lumps up front and get balls into the box?

I have no doubt that the team selection was 90% down to Allen/Britton tonight but it would have been Matos' call not to put another man up top

I agree that he’s a better player than he generally gets credited for, but today it seemed to me that most of his passes were backwards or sideways, and nearly always to the player they came from.

Been saying much the same.

There is no teamwork, everyone stands waiting or in some cases hiding.
The basics of teamwork is helping each other.
This 'team's is "your problem mate don't give it to me"

Froze my nuts off watching that.
It is a relatively easy game. One team attacks one way and the other team attacks the opposite way. Why then do we always seem to be playing the same way as the opposition? 70 % of backward and sideways possession whereas Derby just attacked whenever they had the ball.
Some of our players were hopeless today and I hope Vito Matos can see what the crowd sees and isn’t swayed by anybody else.
Another dire performance but Galbraith, Tymon, Vipotnik and, to an extent, Eom can hold their heads high.
Just more disappointment.

Well, got home after freezing my nuts off at another poor, poor showing. I can't understand that nobody seems to see how bad Key is, apart from us hard done by supporters. Almost anyone would replace him, but why not play the young lad from West Ham there? At least he's a capable defender. The snails pace passing back and fore between the defenders will NOT go away it seems, same for the lack of movement by the people who should be receiving the ball. Statues actually move more! I hate players who hide, not wanting the ball, it's so cowardly. There were a lot of them out there tonight. No shape, no fight, no togetherness. As for Benson . . . . . . Why is he here? He does utterly nothing. I'm starting to think that saving our championship status is beyond our capabilities this season. So depressing.

I agree, I wasn’t sure about him playing as a 6 by himself but I thought he played very well tonight, dropped into the space above our defence, took the ball well, didn’t shy away from anything. I didn’t want him to come off.

Shout for Eom as well who I thought was very bright all game, didn’t stop running.

I agree re the first half.

I certainly am one of those that has criticised him as I think he’s gone backwards in the last season or two and it filled me with despair when I saw his name on the team sheet last season and the beginning of this.

But as I said in Saturday , it has got to the point where I thought it was worth giving him a go and tonight I thought he was the least of our problems. In fact, more than that, I thought he did well for the first 45 at least. Early in the second half we were all over the shop so harder to judge and then he went off.

I thought he did a lot more than Franco to be honest. And didn’t think Stamenic did any better than him either (aware though that he’s had an awful time and it may take him a while to bed back in).

Well Fulton with his experience should be leading the youngsters. His discipline is questionable and his work rate and influence in a game is negligible. He is in his own comfort zone for sure.

Surely the Fulton pick, had to come from Leon & Joe ?
Wtf were they thinking considering we’re at home, and Mantos said his intention was for
fast attacking, and fast pressing football.
Did they both not get the memo?

Good luck to him implementing that, after he had to endure 180 + minutes of gutless, shapeless “football “ in his first 2 matches.
I’ll keep saying it until the cows come home, the buck literally stops at the top table.
Not enough football nous or intelligence in the recruitment and scouting dept, has brought the inevitable results we are currently also having to endure.
It's been a cluster fuck, owners have shown good intent but have been let down by the people they have untrusted to run the club.
I think if due diligence was done then it could have been avoided, they only had to come on here for starters.

Once the dust settles, be that as still a championship club or in L1 then there is certainly going to be a lot of questions and a lot of squirming, I believe there is going to be a lot of blaming others.....I would advise the owners to be prepared for a lot of "it's their fault, their wrong"

Fulton would have been a Joey and Leon call, experience was likely their view but Fulton is gone and is yesterday's chip paper.

The appointment of Sheehan was glaringly wrong, most can see that clearly now. Sheehan has imprinted a massive issue into the team.

Were they gutless or were they outplayed by another physical team (like Ipswich) who got away with some foul play because they knew how to play the referee? Sone of our players (eg Ronald) felt like they played the ball back too often rather than taking on their opponent, but it didn’t feel at all like they all did?
