The formation leaves atrociously huge gaps and all they have to do is play it into the channels
To be fair it's a problem with the tactics not the formation.

If you go back and watch the Norwich game we left acres of space between the defence and the midfield. They just weren't good enough to do anything with it.

If the formation meant we were creating chances I would be less critical but right now the only way we will score is if their keeper turns around and belts it into his own goal

If we go to back 4, I'd have Casey and Burgess, bench the captain. The other two are better

It’s also an inherent problem with playing 541. Your full backs will normally be high up the pitch and same with at least one of your two midfielders. That leaves three center halves and one midfielder to cover half the pitch

Are we agreed that 3xCB’s doesn’t work?

If and when we revert to a flat four, what’s the best midfield and attack set up? I’ve got no idea as they all look bang average.
It's not 3 x CB's that is the problem, it is using Widdell and Inoussa as wide as they are that is tactically wrong, the WB's can provide the width.

We need more centrally maybe Cullen as No 10 alongside Vipotnik and Yalcouye in with Franco and Galbraith.

3 of ours were absolutely blatant and nailed on. There’s no refereeing angle to be played here.
Tbh Tymon could have had a red for his.

Anyway, people won’t like what I’m about to say but Galbraith is having a very bad game.
Playing this formation he has to be a pivot and he’s been consistently in the wrong place to receive the ball and drive it.

Can’t play this formation with him there.

Inoussa has been awful as well. And Vipotnik may as well not be on the pitch.

The problem is that Widell is an attacking midfielder not a winger and playing him there is absurd

The difference today is a coach that knows what he is doing. From the first minute, it's been about when they are going to score. We are so indecisive in all areas of our play, the players were all running out of ideas just before half time, I felt like throwing in the white towel for them. I hope it's a game of two halves.

I'm going to have two pints of lovely Staropramen before the game and a not-so-good pint of Madri at half time, the sun is out for a change, and I just put Ipswich in my acca (which, as anyone who knows my betting record will tell you, means they can't possibly win).

Swans to win 2-0. Keep the faith. COYS 💪

This has aged appallingly

3CB’s leaves us a man short further forward. This is the case whoever gets to play wide.
