S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 Leicester City 3 | Att: 16,601 | Saturday 4th Oct | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

Good lord I hope not! I was talking about the right side of the team on the whole. On the left we have Tymon, the Chelsea lad, Eom and Inoussa. On the right it’s Key, Ronald’oh and a completely ineffective (so far) Benson.
Players dont lose talent entirely. Iwould hope he can be salvaged. Look at Vipotnick. Adrian Forbes played RB in one game. That was a WTF moment. Im sure we have someone who can fill in there. Key is a clown.

Sam Parker was the great hope a couple of years ago, then he got injured and never really got back in. It was Sheehan who brought him into the team initially during his first caretaker spell if I remember correctly; maybe he’ll give him another go.

Benson is clearly a much better player than we’ve seen. Not sure why it’s not working for him. Maybe it’s as mundane as just needing more game time.

To be fair they did say before Widell arrived that he wouldn’t be a first team regular straight away, most likely to play U23 games whilst being brought along. I don’t think it’s anything to panic about.
So he's gone from playing regular first team football in the Swedish top flight and a call up to the Swedish national squad to playing for our U 23s . How the hell is that progressing his career. He's not some 17 year old starting his professional career.

New country, new culture, new league, give the lad some time.

Eom in for Inoussa was the right call. Sheehan mentioned in the week that Inoussa was top of the list of new players who were feeling the effect of championship physicality/intensity levels. The way he played when he came on made me glad he didn’t start…
I thought EOM was one of the few in white trying to make something happen or do something interesting. Overall it was a decent display against a better (but not anything special) team, but there’s a hall of a way to go before the performance can be called satisfactory. If that were the end product of Sheehan’s ambition for way to play, it’s nowhere near good enough. It’s not the end product though…I hope! With new players and new managers, I think we’re where I would expect overall, but I think everyone would agree we need to see steady improvement between now and Christmas. Not least settling on our best team (with attacking intent) and getting them to learn each other’s play and…shoot.

I certainly will, but i can't see for the life of me how he's going to benefit from being in our U23s . OK he hasn't dazzled yet, but has Yalcouye, Eom or Inoussa , think it would be more beneficial for him to be in the first team squad.

I tend to trust the coaching staff who see the lad on daily basis to look after his development as opposed to us lot chatting on a football forum.

I would of liked to see Yalcouye start, but understand he thought Cullen deserved an opportunity. Thought Eom played well personally. Maybe would of had Galbraith on from start too.
I'll never understand why Cullen gets an opportunity. He's hopeless. In games against even half decent opposition he must surely be the easiest player in the division to nullify. Shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up.

Overall I agree,

Just heard Sheehan's post match interview, where he says he doesn't want us to be a nearly team.

Imo that's where we are today. Most games have left me frustrating, where we could have done better if we upped our tempo.
We do need to see steady improvement up to the Christmas period. This league is unforgiving and I do believe we need to be physically and mentally stronger.
One win at home in 5 games, ok we have drawn 3 but against teams that I would class as mid table, leaving our only win against bottom of the table Sheff U.
Our away results are better and should have had something against Birmingham.
We can't wait for things to click, we must make it happen.
We are giving possession away too easily, making it doubly hard to build momentum , and putting us under unnecessary pressure.
We have the makings of a good championship team, but not play off contenders until we wise up to what's needed in our game management.

I’m late to the party here, haven’t seen a kick but have skimmed through the MTD. Is the correct take that we didn’t disgrace ourselves against one of the best three squads in the league, but also that this is another game that eats into Sheehan’s free pass?

I would say the first part is right, didn’t utterly disgrace ourselves at all but still underwhelming in an attacking sense. Leicester certainly up there squad wise but had drawn against a couple of sides in and around our level recently, disappointing we didn’t manage to get something.

Just seen the starting XI, was Galbraith carrying a knock? I assume not as he came on. But then again he also came off after an hour on Tuesday.
