Turn it in, has anybody ever seen you and nocountryforoldjack in the same room together ?
Didn't control the game yet vigoroux didn't make a save with us barely getting out of second gear. Their goal aside I don't think they got in our final third first half.

Some are never happy ffs. Proper football team now.

This season is only about survival. Get the points and get better at Matos style. I can still live in dream land with top 6 😜. But I'll take what I'm seeing under Matos over anything I saw under Williams, Martin, Sheehan and Duff. We might not always get it right, but it's more entertaining.
We'll get top 8 with matos next season - bookmark it. What he's done in 12 games with our confidence on the floor is nothing short of remarkable. 4th in league for shots over 10 games 👍👍

I don't deny the other stuff he does in a game, I have consistently praised his pressing, defensive play and everything else that makes up that side of the game.

When you look at the attacking side of his game, I praised him a few games back for the assist he got in the cup for Inoussa and the balls he was putting into the box where he was a real danger.

But tonight? He was involved in at least half a dozen high quality opportunities where he could drive at a full back, go outside them and put in a ball across the box or cut inside and look for a shooting opportunity or chance to play a reverse pass in for a runner.

And he made the wrong decision / got the execution wrong every single time.

In the first half he had the ball on the edge of the box and blazed a shot high and wide when the pass was on for an overlapping runner. He had another opportunity when he was in behind the defender, he put in a shot which was on target and the keeper saved however instead of such a shot being hard and low it was at the perfect height for the keeper to get a hand to it. He had a third opportunity where he had drawn two defenders to him, Franco and Widell were unmarked at the D on the edge of the box and instead of the easy pass for one of them to hit it first time he tried to take them on and over runs it to go out for a goal kick.

And I haven't even touched on his opportunities in the second half.
That isn't confirmation bias.
That is literally confirmed bias you’ve written war and peace about 3 mistakes he made. One of which, his shot blocked by the keeper was a decent. All the while dismissing the rest of his game tonight.

Its not confirmation bias when you are assessing the attacking side of his game though?

I have praised the rest of his game, I did it multiple times this season and I did it in the post that you quoted.
We are talking about his lack of decision making and end product in the attacking third.

The part that teams typically employ wingers to produce for them.

Vip has had two chances and one half chance and grabbed two goals, played a key part in the own goal and has shown exceptional hold up and link up play

Been a complete performance from him in my eyes
And to think some on here thought he was a league one striker. He was excellent tonight and would have scored three or four if Ronald had anything about him

Well below par tonight but still well deserved winners. It was like a league cup game against a lower league team given the amount of injuries Blackburn have. But a professional job done barring that 5 minutes of madness in the first half.
Special mention for Eom after this one, he’s getting steadily better, he has the beating of most opponents 1 on 1, and product is still a work in progress but at least he’s getting plenty of practise, instead of spending most of the game looking lost!

Didn't realise that with shots. That's amazing considering what our stats was under Sheehan.
