Good to follow this up with another win and get back into mid table territory
Yes-we have been playing like a team short of confidence and esperience in deling with pressure.
Green shoots today - not just the win, but some key steps forward - here are a few
Different set pieces causing problems
Winning the ball back higher up the pitch
Playing with a RB instead of a turnstile
Clear instructions for our wingers to take defenders on when 1:2:1
Solid performance by Stamenic shielding the back 4
An obvious togetherness and willingness to fight (almost literally) for each other
Not letting the worst referee I have ever (seldom) seen derail our game plan

Be interesting to see how we shackle Murphy. He's a big threat from LB creative and scores goals. Do we stick with Galbraith at RB or bring Casey or Parker in and move Galbraith back into midfield!?

Oxford offered nothing down their left side which allowed Galbraith to roam and pop up all over the park.
That can't happen against a team that has a credible threat down their left.

Although our mid week performances haven’t been impressive in general and even though they have more days to rest and train, I’m going for a hard fought two in a row.

Rotating for a Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday week is par for the course these days but I’d go all out with the same side from minute 1 on Tuesday night.

Getting the win would be huge and hopefully set us up for the Xmas period. If it means we have to rotate 4/5 away at Stoke then so be it - that’d be an opportunity for some others to impress and prove they can play in Matos’ style.

I would proberly drop Ronald, and try Inoussa. Maybe Franco for Yalkouye. Other than that no reason why rest can't go again.

Ronald has got ability, but he's so frustrating. He doesn't seem to have that killer instinct which says "I'm going to score, no matter what".
Last night, having watched the highlights several times, I'm fairly sure he dived for his penalty appeal. He got the slightest of touches in the back but went down like he was poleaxed. His first thought should have been "get it under control, swivel and shoot for goal" but it seems to have been "how can I con the ref here?".
Later, when he ghosted into the area past two players, his first thought should have been "put your laces through it, even if it's saved we might get a good rebound or deflection". Instead, his thought was "I'll slip it through to Vip with his back to goal, let's see if we can walk it into the net with another two or three clever passes".

Eom, Franco and Ronald. All guilty of going down easy. Problem is referees now see him going down right or wrong won't give it. The penalty call was one that could of been given by another referee. But needs to do more. I don't think he is as bad as many say he is. But he needs to improve.

Hopefully people will make use of all the free tickets that the club have released. Made a decent difference to our crowd yesterday.

I don't think he has any thoughts. He's hard coded to a) fall over b) whine about it c) launch balls to Jupiter.

Every now and again he accidentally does something good.

Edit. reply to Pegs re Ronnie.
