Just read any other fans forum and you get exactly the same view. Of course we're all blinkered and biased 😂.

Clear cut decisions as well, I wonder if other clubs get the clear cut penalty decisions that we get, sometimes two in a game, over a season the amount of those decisions that go wrongly against us is incredible and no that's no coming from a blinkered fan either.
Just look at the Forest and Millwall games, probably won't see more two obvious penalties.

Naive to think otherwise 😊

Fans don't see a neutral sporting contest; they see a battle where their tribe (their team) must win. Any decision against their team is seen as a personal affront and an injustice

A fan's view of an incident is almost always filtered through their loyalty. A 50/50 challenge will look like a clear foul to one set of fans and a clean tackle to the other. The referee's neutral view is often impossible for a partisan fan to comprehend.

Bottom line is players and referees make mistakes. It's part of the game.

Are we really saying that Swansea City has more referee mistakes against us than other teams ?😂

Other teams could not possibly think they are hard done by ..could they ? 😂😂

Every set of fans can name referees who will not ever give them a fair shout, referees that just don't like the club/town/whatever. In that situation, try as they might (or not sometimes) the referee has a sub-conscious bias, and it will show. Mistakes are acceptable, bias is not. We've all watched matches as strict neutrals and seen a game where the referee clearly favoured one side over the other at every point.

I suggest that the refereeing authorities should make more of an effort to get referees to declare their likes and dislikes and build that into referee selection.

Not sure who would referee Millwall.

How many games have you watched on TV where the commentator has mentioned the referee giving a decision to even out a mistake they'd made earlier in the game,.

Happens all the time.

Blinkered, biased upon times, yes. We're also realistic.

Take the Millwall game as an example, I can understand the ref not giving the penalty, there is no reason for the linesman not to raise their flag, they were directly in line with the incident.

Of course officials make mistakes, like that one. But equally players make mistakes as well, when clearly they should have passed to create a stonewall goal, or whatever. Just share the blame out across refs and players is all I argue.

The point is, they shouldn't be making mistakes like that. The fact is they do and on a regular basis.

I do feel a little (tiny!) bit sorry for refs. Having to make decisions within a second which will be analysed and overanalysed by replays, TV pundits, YouTube channels, podcasts, forums such as this one…it must be pretty tough. Humans make mistakes, even basic ones, sometimes. Plenty argue that that is part of the game that is being lost, with the game becoming too clinical.

If we want near 100% accuracy, we’re going to have to have constant video refereeing that will slow down the game, see play being pulled back constantly, etc.. You have to think of the balance between accuracy and enjoyment - the balance between competition and entertainment.
