Summer Transfer Window

We won't know it's as near to perfect until we are around 10 games into the league season.
We started pre season well with signings but other clubs are now doing their business and that's opening people's eyes a bit wider to the situation.

I think we have done ok this summer. I just don't think we are totally there yet and have a few areas that need attention......I'm sure the people in control are aware of it also.
Completely agree. The fact of the matter is that we acted quickly and decisively early on in the window to get some (on paper) good players in for cheap or reasonable fees. As you can see in the last 2 weeks, the price tags and wages teams are paying are picking up. This is natural towards the tail end of the window and as the season get closer. We do not need to get caught up in overpaying for players.

So yes, we still have gaps. But credit where credit is due in finding those players early on, avoiding bidding wars and getting them over the line whilst, broadly speaking, under the radar.

The ones calling the transfer window so far "superb", ignoring the obvious gaps in the squad, will no doubt be the same ones who will be up in arms if we aren't in the play off positions by October.

As things stand, we still have a lot of work to do if we want to get to where we want to be. No amount of wishful/positive thinking is going to change that.
Aye and we’ll be the same ones paying out money and actually attending games every week, not waiting to see if we play nice football whilst winning. Now what?

Far too early to judge the new players, fair enough make comments on the structure of the team, pattern of play etc., after a month of Championship football will give you a good idea of the capabilities of the new recruits.
We are still at least three players short of having a competitive squad, so its wait and see for me.

Interestingly.. listening to pundits and podcast on where we are predicted to finish. So far anywhere between 7th and 17th .

But a theme from them all was unsure where the goals are coming from.

Can we really go into a season with Cullen, Vip and a young untested Wales as our striker options?.. do we have enough defensively to win 1-0 games on a regular basis?

Liking all the additions so far.

The answer to that is simple...NO

I do think a good option would be waiting McBurnie out until the wage demands are lowered significantly. If we can get him for between 20-25k a week then it would be a no brainer. Need to move Yates on before any of this happens though.

I think he will wait and then will take another club, that's my gut feeling. I know people are mixed on this one but he would add alot to us if he joined.

Why do we have to wait on Yates leaving before we move for a striker? Our wage structure appears to have dropped with so many departures of the squad from last season. We have released at least 8 and not paying out for MPH and LoB.

I'm aware we need to be sustainable but surely scoring goals is a premium in this league. Especially if we have any ambition to progress and build on last season

My only concern at moment its gone super quiet on the striker front. Also do we even really know if we are in for one? If its a matter of no leaks are happening and we get surprised of an announcement then great. But you would think this now has to be a priority. The Yates situation I could see going down to the wire. So not sure as you said why that should hold us up.

Going on recent business, quiet is good.

True. I just hope it doesn't drag on. We was spoilt with early signings and I for one gotten to excited about things. I know it doesn't work like the way I want it to be but our depth is far worse than I ever thought.

I just want us to get it right.
Everyone coming in HAS to add value.
Fingers crossed we’re working hard on priorities and just reliant on a bit of movement elsewhere.

If we got a striker in surely we would look to do it before pre season ends, we will want at least some conditioning work done with said player, especially if like McBurnie they are without a club.
