Summer Transfer Window

People online comparing him to Vip but think he looks a bit more mobile. Seems to be great off the shoulder and has good acceleration about him. Looks excellent in the air too. This one seems decent if we can get it done.

Drops deep to collect and lay off, never stops moving
Good header of the ball and always in dangerous positions

Seems he might be TOO good for us, but the ambition to bid in the first place is a good one

Sorry but that is blatant revisionism

All of the managers that we had would have loved to use Walsh more often, his qualities were on full display when he smashed in that 25 yard worldie a few games before the end of his final season under us. The boy's problem was that he was horrifically injury prone and never able to stay fit for more than a few games at a time.

This didn't seem to be a problem for Luton or for his club before us where he clocked up 30+ appearances for each
Does our medical team have questions to answer?

Possibly but to suggest that he didn't play because we had better when his competition at the time was the likes of Jay Fulton, Oli Cooper, Luke Cundle etc is madness
Look at how much he was on the bench for us in that season and go ask our managers at the time then. You can argue all you want, but if he was on the bench then he was available and they chose not to play him. The facts remain that he's been unavailable for far more games throughout his career than he's been available. That's not revisionism, it's fact.

You watch Norwich, Leicester, Preston all will suddenly be linked to Erabi.
Yes When players appear in the media the chances of it happening reduce greatly.
Would not surprise me if this is a tool to let Wycombe know they need to sell now or get stuck with a player in the final year.
Watch for the Kone announcement.

My concern with judging players from youtube videos is that they always look better than they actually are. This was our current number 9 before we signed him:

Erabi would be an excellent addition, at least from the highlights posted, but how effective is any striker going to be with poor service?

We brought in Yates, who was dreadful, but had an established scoring record at Blackpool, and we brought in Vip, who is a bit raw and was an opportunistic buy, but seemed highly rated at the time. Maybe it's because neither of them saw enough of the ball. That's partly on them for positioning, but some of that has to come down to the rest of the squad and tactics.

We need a 9 regardless, but unless its someone like Piroe with the ability to find space out of nothing, I don't know how much it solves

I can never work out if I'm in a minority or majority, but I like Vipotnik quite a lot. Look at the amount of service he gets in those clips, nowhere in his time here has had anything close to that to feed off

A lot of people made their minds up about Vipotnik during the Williams era when we clearly provided nothing like the kind of service he or any other striker needed We didn't do the wingers any favours either.

I think he showed enough post that to suggest that there's something there to work with. Not the finished article by any stretch, but nowhere near a bust either.

Completely agree. He sprints as if he's wading through treacle but we've seen he's got a brilliant shot on him. The main problem he's had here (as you said) is we don't get the ball to him quick/often enough.
My fear would be spending a few million more on this other guy, only for him to come up against the same problem.

No goals scored from open play in pre-season hardly screams that we're much changed tactically from last season. The game at the weekend was against superior opposition but it was the same again, unable to get the ball forward convincingly and create any meaningful chances

Vipotnik definitely has something about him, we just didn’t see it until Sheehan came in. He could arguably have had 10-12 goals last season if he was just a little bit sharper. That would have been a success considering 10 was his tally before coming here. Should have had an easy hat trick in that Plymouth home game for me.

I think it’s more about what type of football we want to be playing and who suits that. Vipotnik didn’t play away from home for Sheehan which suggests he doesn’t wholly trust him. Will be interesting to see what happens.
