Summer Transfer Window

Williams's game plan also involved recycling the ball perpetually and never risking losing the ball. The difference between Ronald's willingness to attack full backs before and after Williams left is night and day, you don't just recover that instinct and composure instantly after 13 months of it being coached out of you
I beg to differ. Williams' approach was a strange mishmash of turgid slow play out from the back combined with a lot of diagonal long balls from Grimes and Vigouroux to the wingers. Only Coventry delivered more crosses into the box than we did under Williams. Ronald was a big part of that. It's too easy to blame Williams.

The harsh truth is that Ronald is more miss than hit when it comes to dribbling and crossing. It's only thanks to his phenomenal work ethic that his overall figures are decent. I doubt whether that will improve much under Sheehan. I'd be happy if he stays, thanks to his overall contribution, but if we get a decent fee I wouldn't mind him leaving either.

Over the course of the whole season when you look at the top 15 players you might look at Ronald who is in 3rd place, but he has also played significantly more minutes than almost everyone on that list and his offsides per 90 is the second lowest in that list with only Jerry Yates (ironically also a Swansea player) having a lower offsides per 90 score than him.

Amazing to find me defending Ronald - and his flaws are all laid out above.
However his defensive work and work rate are incredible - and he offers s threat, even if his end delivery is erratic at best.
If we were to move him on it would leave a really big hole to fill - and any fee received would need to compensate for that.
I feel he is a minimum 4 million player.

I don't disagree in principle. The problem is that for Championship sides not in receipt of parachute payments or a windfall from a big sale there seems to be a ceiling of about £3 million for inter-Championship moves. I can't see us getting more from elsewhere apart perhaps from Saudi. It could happen that we'd get £4 million for him but it's unlikely.

The thing that needs to be remembered is that LoB has a lot of say with regards to where he ends up. If he wants to join us then he can demand that or simply sit out the rest of his contract if Forest don't play ball. The challenge will be if other clubs are willing to offer him a better package. Would he forego a higher salary? Doubtful.

He's got time on his side, as long as he's drawing his elevated salary from Forest. I can see him moving late in the window. Hopefully to us. In the meantime we need a 6 regardless of whether he ultimately signs or not.
LOB might have the edge on Forest but his wife has the edge on him. She hated her time in Swansea

There is no way Ronald is worth 5m quid or euros. 5 million lira perhaps.

I'm not saying let's give him away but let's be realistic here. He's not a top Championship player, he's not even a good one, he's merely ok and nothing more.
Thank feck you're not in charge of transfers, eh? 🙄

Ronald’s attacking out out is on track to match that of dyer and Routledge. He’s only had 18 months playing championship football and has shown in patches what he’s about. We’re never going to be signing the next neymar, but there’s a lot more higher rated players in this league not performing at the same level. If he goes I think we can replace him, but I think we should be looking to squeeze £5m for him

Was she living in Swansea during the LOB loan. Thought she was pregnant living up north
She came down when the baby was born to spend time here, I don’t recall anything saying she hated it here, he said he was showing her the beaches and stuff and I’m sure Lewis will get some advice from Matt Grimes/Jamal Lowe etc who all loved raising their kids here.

Never saw anything about LOB's family not enjoying their time here. But maybe as they knew it was limited, they just didn't let themselves get too attached to the area?

With Ronald - average to good player on his day which is every so often.
Definitely not irreplaceable so if a good enough offer came in, I'd be tempted to cash in.

Not having that last bit in the slightest. I don't see LOB back here due to the clubs that are in for him and they money I assume he's on but it won't be down to that last sentence, no chance.
