They do like hiding in trees. I saw this young Night Heron fly over my car in Spain a couple of years ago so I stopped and watched where it landed. Would have definitely never known it was there otherwise. :lol:

I wish I could say Siberia or some other exotic place, but it was Cornwall. I was with my granddaughter visiting Paradise Park (of all names) a small wildlife park. What they are, I’m sorry, I don’t know other than some sort of owl (?). To be fair, it was a great afternoon out, but not a lot of time viewing everything as the granddaughter was only 2 and didn’t have a lot of patience.

I wish I could say Siberia or some other exotic place, but it was Cornwall. I was with my granddaughter visiting Paradise Park (of all names) a small wildlife park. What they are, I’m sorry, I don’t know other than some sort of owl (?). To be fair, it was a great afternoon out, but not a lot of time viewing everything as the granddaughter was only 2 and didn’t have a lot of patience.

My guess would be Tawny Frogmouth, a native of Australia and often mistaken for an owl

Thanks. Certainly looks the same bird, I took a lot of photos that day and didn’t make a note of any names.
I’ll put some more up when I get them together.

They look more like Nightjars than Owls.
