I don’t understand it.
He was shit at Norwich, he was shit at Celtic, he's shit for us, hasn't kicked a ball yet in Swans jersey, doesn't matter he's still shit.

Our rise up the leagues was built on signing waifs and strays and giving them a home where they could flourish.

Seems these says some fans still live in the era of the premier league when club hasn't existed there for a long time.

No way has Eom gone backwards compared to last season. Probably man of the match yesterday. Made big strides and definitely one of our better players.
Gone backwards in terms of assists absolutely
He had an extremely high successful cross percentage last season
In terms of assists this season he has registered 2 goals and 2 assists in 25 league and 4 cup appearances

A goal involvement of roughly 1 in 7 appearances

In his defense last season he only had 3 goals and 3 assists the entire season, however that was also with a team that for all its flaws scored a lot more goals than we have this season.

Joel Piroe started for Leeds yesterday ,
Looked sharp although he had a penalty saved played well , hit the post with one shot keeper pushed out one shot to a Leeds player to score ,
Was instrumental in the second Leeds goal with a superb dummy for Gnoto to score .
He is a clever player .

If he came back to the Swans he would make a huge difference.
I don't understand why Farke isn't playing Piroe more than he is.

He looked good against Man Utd as well in his short cameo, nearly score a beauty with his first touch. Calvin-Lewin has been great recently but I think Piroe would play well alongside him.

Waifs and strays don't cost £7million (I appreciate that number may be disputed and lower) but he was our marquee signing this summer (I also appreciate that's not his fault), however everything about him I find underwhelming.

His record at Norwich wasn't great (around 1 in 8)
His Celtic record was OK but they were happy to move on pretty quickly
The above are massive red flags but for whatever reason our recruitment department ignored them and seemed to go all in on Idah.

I don't see him flourishing at Swansea, for me he lacks any real drive or passion and it shows in his performances.

One thing that has been obvious to me - and we can debate the subjective merits of individual players - is that Matos and his coaching tem seem to be improving individual players, and we are squeezing more quality out of players who have been terrible under previous regimes.
1. Fulton (I would argue) is currently playing the best football of his Swans career. Totally unrecognisable
2. Eom is much improved - and his work rate has doubled
3. The last 2 performances from Key reminded us that he is an actual footballer
4. Did you see Ronald fizzing low hard crosses into the box yesterday, and spending less time lying on his back, rolling around and crying?
5. Widell is really starting to look a great high energy player (can't believe he hasn't got a goal yet)

I think we can expect to see better from the likes if Innoussa Idah Wales etc.
All 3 of these show flashes of the player they might be- BUT ultimately it is their responsibility to knuckle down and get better.

Agreed!

Talking about waifs and strays lots of us posters know there are lots of talented players in League 1 & 2 .
A good example is Galbraith ,
Looking at Jovan Makama who Norwich signed from Lincoln for a reported £1-5 million scored a hatrick yesterday 12 goals for the season so far .

Thanks for proving my point ✌🏼

Wales should be given more game time especially if he can also play in wide positions
Maybe it's me, but I just get a feeling Matos is not fully convinced on him. He hasn't been used like Idah was, it seems Matos prefers to at least keep VP on instead and for much more of the game rather than 60th minute like he did with Idah. I definitely can see him going out on loan in the summer.

I don't want to jinx it but Ronald was definitely crossing lower balls into the box yesterday. Something we have not seen in a while. Key came on and had an impact. Fulton is actually dare I say playing well in the role. And Widell is becoming a player with potential. Galbraith is immense. Eom on his day is brilliant. Just needs to get consistency. I can't Remember last time he had played 2 good matches in a row. However you look at it, the desire to close down players at the right time and win ball back is actually the part of our play I didn't think I would enjoy as much. But I'm loving it.

Doesn’t he have more goal contributions per minute than any other Swans player this season?

By quite a distance, according to this website, not that I really understand the ins and outs of it all.

Swansea City v Birmingham City
